That extra protection for Purdy + that run blocking on 3rd and short could put everything on offense in place for longer marches downfield as well as possession time. I just think it would have a settling effect on other areas as well including the defense. Too many 10 play drives by the Falcons offense. Long flight, 10AM game and shorter week put too much on them in Atlanta where bad things seem to happen for the niners. I've been seeing this happen for 50 years.

Bates should be with us next year. He could have the same effect as Nelson on offense.

I'm starting to believe just maybe it's possible but we need 2 unlikely things to happen. The colts willing to trade him and Kyle signing off on spending that much + significant draft capital for a guard. If I'm Lynch I at least pick up the phone inquire for Nelson

The Colts will definitely be willing to trade him. The real question is are we willing to pay the price. I'm almost certain he goes at least for a 2nd to a team willing to extend him. Are we that team? Idk.

I've been hearing the peacocks want to trade for Nelson. I would break things in my house if that happens....

They have different values than the 49ers and aren't afraid to spend on ALL positions on offense or defense. When you're afraid to trade 1st round picks for proven veterans, you're already handicapped yourself from a Super Bowl run let alone a SB Win.

Lynch started the process in 2019 and finally got him in 2020

I said TW forced his way here for Shanny. Lynch had little to do with it in fact if it wasn't for TW reaching out to Shanny he'd be a Viking which I showed the receipts for. Now you're twisting it as I hate Lynch and he doesn't do anything. Lynch is a fine GM and he has impact on decision making move on brother this is the OL thread
What you showed is TW talking about KC, when he was already on the 49ers which contradicts everything you falsely stated on how Lynch acquired TW

https://www.nbcsportsbayarea.com/nfl/san-francisco-49ers/williams-recalls-49ers-failed-trade-attempt-for-him-in-2019/1446107/

And what about this? TW literally said the deal with Minnesota was 80% done and he called Kyle personally urging him to make a final push; and yes he almost went to KC the year after and who did he call??
Dude just stop

There's no way a player on a team can talk to another coach about getting them, you know what that is called right?

Williams coaching preference and calls made after he was on the team is still irrelevant on how Lynch worked a trade to get him here.

Outside of 1 or 2 games, Colby has been awful in pass protection. I hold my breath every time he has a 1-on-1. However, I think he's good enough in the run game that it'll allow him to keep his job. At this point, it feels unlikely that someone from the outside will come in and integrate on the fly. They've got to roll with the guys you've got and hope Colby or someone else steps up.

It's literally groundhog day every year, and we've seen how this story ends.

*Before he was on the team read the article. I guess TW is just making everything up then

Again, Lynch has already put in the work the season and offer before any call. Without Lynch getting involved, TW would be in Minn

Plus there's no way Williams can make contact with the 49ers, that's tampering

Wrong Trent went out of his way to contact Shanny asking him to make the push not only before being traded here but also during FA when KC pursued him. These are TWs words not mine.

I think it's more Kyle's philosophy of bargain shopping for OL and coaching them up. Outside of TW, they haven't spent draft capital or $ on the line. Sometimes it works, like with Tomlinson, then when they play well we let em walk....

Sorry it's already recorded Lynch started the process early in 2019 before Trent knew

without Lynch, the trade never happens

lol even if that was true Trent was on his way to Minnesota and reached out to Kyle to go get him before it was finalized.

In no way Kyle was involved, spoke to Williams to start the trade or it's tampering

Kyle had to be kept away from this as Washington hated Shanahan.

Lynch strategically broken down Washington's wall against Kyle to make the trade happen and kept leverage on the 49ers side by holding Staley's retirement announcement to get TW for a 5th rd pick

without Lynch, the trade never happens. Give credit to where it's due
