49ers OL is getting whooped by the Seahawks DL in pass pro. Connor Colby has given up 2 sacks and that number could be 3 or 4 if not for Purdy's escapability.

They need to nut up in the second half.

No way this is accurate, now if you were talking about the Cawks OL then yeah

one of our sacks against us Purdy dropped back like two steps and just stood there. If he took another two steps it would have been another great pocket

this was a great test for our OL, they didn't ace the test.. but they for sure didn't fail

Hope we blow out Washinton so I can see how Cruz plays at left tackle!

Our interior was having some trouble for sure. The Seahawks don't have that superstar pass rusher but they have solid talent across the board
Jack Stewart wrote an interesting article on our home page here. We need to strengthen out pass protection. Colby is the week link and Aaron Donald, Chris Jones and Leonard Jones are not going away-at least not this year. Me I'd rent(again) Quenton Nelson. Keep him around until these guys quit. I can remember Dick Vermeil giving the big bucks to Adam Timmerman in 1999 when Bryant Young was at the top of his game. I do believe that's why he signed Timmerman. Two dismal seasons(97/98) and then a super bowl in 99.

I think me and you are the only ones that would go after Nelson. It's a pipe dream let it go…

Why trade for an o-lineman when we aren't having issues with the o-line?

It's because Purdy is a gem. The team needs to help him thrive more than it needs to protect him. Those head fakes he does in the open field didn't work on Emanwori. The rest of the league will catch on.

Well, we are 5-0 and we have already played some of the better teams in the league.

I'm with you no need to fix what is not broken but damn Nelson would put this OL over the top. It's comparable to the DL you add a pro bowl DE to pair with Bosa it might break the nfl

Agree.

Only concern is when you hit the playoffs and if you have to go on the road thats where it will really be tested against great DLines.

So far so good though.

You aren't wrong, but the only possible way I see them splurging for Nelson is if:

1. We win the SuperBowl and Trent Williams retires. This is the only scenario where I see Williams hanging it up.

2. Lots of cap space gets freed up and we likely aren't easily replacing Williams so the team elects to solidify the interior by signing Nelson.

But we still need a guy at center. Brendel isn't it long-term. If they go for Nelson get a guy that can fits with him and Puni.

But we also have done extensions to look into because surprise surprise, we have guys we drafted that are worth extending.

On what planet is Aaron Donald a concern? In 3 games he has 0 sacks and 3 hurries. He's a 35 year old who hasn't played in 2 years, and it's showing. He's one of the most overpaid players in the league ($20m+) for his production
A bounce back game would be a great sight to see.
