No change at C this year. Next year one cannot count on Willis being ready any more than Enrique Cruz is Trent's replacement. They've taken their chances on mid-late round draft picks and only a couple/three have done ok-just ok. Decent IOL's are available in round 3 most years and they spend them on rb's that can't play. If Willis gets to the 2nd level well then Cruz should be even better as his 40 time was 4.94. One year to find out. Then draft OL high next year. The presence of Kaelon Black on 3rd and short should make a difference. Imagine another 2 minutes of possession for every 1st down he gets us.

Puni was a good pick, so was Colton McKivitz, and anytime you can get a ok *starter* from UDFA, that's a win in my book.

I think Carver has a good shot at the starting position, and Enrique will have a year or more to develop since Trent is going to play at least this year.

ShanaLynch have had decent (but not outstanding) results from their offensive line drafts, but I think they are getting better. 2023 was a low point but 2024 (Puni) and 2025 (Conner Colby) are good players that I think can get better. I'm hoping Carver can step in like Puni did. If anybody can develop Enrique into a Colton McKivitz 2.0 - its Foerster. We'll find out in pre-season if any of these guys have developed or can even play at the NFL starter level.

Trent will be here next year too as he's got a $11.5m roster bonus that he'd get in 2028 if he doesn't holdout in 2027 and he isn't gonna pass that kind of money up so Cruz will have 2 yrs to develop, not saying he's the future LT but never know crazier things have happened

I hope to hear good news on Enrique and Carver during OTA's. Then again no news is sometimes good news too. Hope hope!
Carver Willis seems really versatile. Hope he can learn fast.

Agree, Him and Conner Colby I hope are the answer to the Left Guard situation. We shall see.

Larry Krueger was at camp yesterday and had a lot of good things to say about Connor Colby. He's faster, improved in all areas. He will be the starter at LG, above all the other guys. Krug quoted McKivitz as being very impressed with what he has seen this year over last year.

Colby had some run last year but was clearly in over his head except for a few series when he flashed enough ability to hold out some hope for him. If yesterday was a good sample, the LG spot seems to be filled. We shall see.

If it is Colby that will be locking that LG spot up; than I can see them fully transitioning Willis to C and having him get this year under his belt before fully taking over next year when Brendel is gone.
im excited for the LG competition this year

And for the firs time since i can remember i love our OL depth

I thought (despite being a raw rookie) he played decent for a rookie. If that is his floor and he progresses and doesn't regress - he has a bright future here on the team. I think if he wasn't injured a bit later in the season, he'd have kept his job in my opinion.

From what highlight clips I've seen of Carver, if he can transition to Center, he can potentially be a dominating one.
Nice, now this OL has to deal with Myles Garrett, Byron Young and Kobie Turner twice a year.

easy money.
The thing with Garret - he cam be moved all over the DLine.

Over right tackle, Center or where ever.
