lol. I wish I could pretend to understand why they are pass blocking so much better but run blocking dropped off.

imo mckivitz has really improved on pass pro. The middle still has its issues, especially in comparison to our tackles. If they could find that center ... please sweet baby Jesus let this be the off season they do it.

Lots of reasons but the principle one has been the lack of a deep pass threat. Defenses have been dropping safeties down on a fairly regular basis as a result of having no fear of getting beat deep. Now, imagine if Pearsall and Aiyuk were both playing healthy...

Another big reason is Burford not being healthy for most of the season, and still not yet hitting it like he should. LG should be a focus for the off-season. Maybe CC can develop but he looked like he had a lot of development to do.

100%. They get their s**t pushed in by every quality DL they face.

McDonald and Seattle will own this offense from here on out if they cant get the run game going.
It's been the same issue for years, it's never going to change. And then the same thing will happen next year

Been 9 years of the same philosophy. Don't see that changing overnight. Would honestly be surprised to see any changes attempted to this Oline until the mid to late rounds of the draft with maybe a backup signed in FA.
This line can't win against playoff caliber DLs

I believe he said "one of the better centers." But yeah, it's true.

Its the same thing that stops them nearly every time. 2019? Chris Jones went wild in the 4th quarter of the SB and Ben Garland got rocked and beat up. 2021? Aaron Donald wrecking the OL. 2023 SB? Chris Jones again. 2025? Got beat to hell by the entire Seahawks DL.

This, unfortunately.

Shanahan & Lynch are smart, "football" guys. They have to see this glaring & super important weakness re: the OL. Let's see what to do about it this offseason.

Hoping for the best because something needs to be done.

You're spot-on. But it will never change.
I think it was such an issue versus a division rival that they will address it.

Then they'll end up getting fired eventually as having regular season success only to see them lose for the exact same reason every single time will get old.

Maybe they need to change OL coaches. Starting to remind me of the Seahawks with Carroll and Tom Cable and Cable talking up how he can coach up any late round pick or project and then the OL inevitably looking like crap at the worst possible moments. Cable is younger than Foerster and he's been out of the NFL for nearly 5 years now.
