Dude struggles with the pure speed guys like most tackles. Other than that he's been very very good overall. The most surprising player on the team to me.

Been great to see. OL as a whole has improved greatly as the year has gone along

Has Brandon Thorn confirmed this or you just shooting off the cuff?

Anyone have any data on how our o line has played since week 11 or so? I thought they looked really bad, especially in run blocking early on, but they've looked a lot better recently

The run blocking has improved a lot since the two Guards have gotten healthy. Once they were both healthy, and could start holding their own, things began to improve in all areas. Brendel has always been an above average run blocker. It was his pass blocking that suffered. However, in the past three weeks, his PB has improved substantially.

Against the Bears, the OL looked as good as any in the league. Purdy had all kinds of time to do his work.

Puni getting healthy from that preseason injury definitely improved the interior. Burford is doing ok. Wish we had a healthy bartch.

I definitely would look for someone big and strong yet also quick and agile. Even if our starting 5 is settled, we need to rebuild depth.

Need at least one more tackle, a center (that isn't undersized for once), and guard.

Hennessy should be brought back. He played well. Pleasants looks to be a solid backup and is a RFA and should be back. We could do worse than Colby as a backup guard. Burford should be cheap to be brought back.

LT- Trent Williams / Austen Pleasants
LG- Spencer Burford / Connor Colby
C- Jake Brendel / Matt Hennessy
RG- Dominic Puni
RT- Colton McKivitz

That's a pretty good solid Oline and they play great in Shanahan's scheme

I honestly forgot about Hennessy. Still want to add a pick in the mold of Puni (size, strength, and athleticism). But that's a very solid 8 on the 46 man roster.
We got two top 10 OTs and two good young OGs. Resign Burford, draft a young athletic C for develop and keep it going.

shocking how good QB play can improve OL play overall as well.

i know this isnt the draft thread but if we can resign Burford and Trent doesnt retire i like our depth for the most part. I would rather strongly focus on other positions in the draft if we can get back to getting a young dominant with this offense we can really threaten to be the next dynasty

We can't ignore Trent's age. Old Man Time wins every game. Until then, I like what we have with Purdy at the controls.

The ghost of NinerCommand will haunt you for saying such heresy.

Trent's own words after the Colts game was I'm nowhere near done. Should work on a small extension if he's serious. Retire a 49er.
