Is that what they mean by an "impact player"?

I have no idea about these stats except we're playing a cream puff schedule so maybe that has something to do with it. I do not trust mckevitz to protect Brocks throwing arm without help AT ALL. Especially against quality rushers.

IMO the thing about McKivitz is that he will occasionally get owned, likely by a quality rusher, but will generally hold his own against said rushers and the others. He started out his career being consistently beaten, so when fans now see him occasionally slip up, they assume he is getting handled all the time as he was in recent years.

He lacks elite traits and had a poor start to his career, but he has quietly solidified himself as a quality starter in the league.

Hope you're right because Brock's career depends on it.

This isn't from PFF. Check the source line.

PFF has McKivitz at #10.

The problem with the run game is the lack of continuity on the interior. Colby was a rookie that needed development. Bartch was good, then got hurt...again. Puni has only had two games that even came close to his 2024 play. Brendel has been a solid run blocker but without guards that are capable of cutting off pursuit or reading double teams well, it is hard to run the ball. Guard play has to improve. Hopefully they will find their grove against the Titans. Simmons will be a good test.

It is on the interior of the o line. It's why we should run between the TE and Tackle.

CMC can't get their if the guards allow a defender to jump through a gap.

I don't thing we are that far off with Puni. Burford is the weak link. He is the key, IMO. In fairness, they have been training him as the swing tackle but with Bartch's injury, he now is back at guard, with Pleasants as the swing tackle. Let's hope that works.

Yes it would have to be sweeps with CMC to the end round. The Guards need to just hold long enough for CMC to find the hole. Puni has been playing better as of late, his injury is finally healed i belive.

Has there been any word on Tomlinson? I can't see how adding him would hurt the team at all....

With the dearth of decent OL around the league, I have to think he has nothing left or someone would have already picked him up.

Oh jfc stop
Linderbaum Is the big name, but Fortner would be a good, cheaper option.

McKivitz is currently ranked #4 in run blocking. He trails 3 1st round pics - Penei Sewell, Trent Williams, and Tristan Wirfs. Elite company.

McKivitz pass blocking is rated "above average". Overall he is ranked #13 among all OTs, Left and Right.

In the playoffs, a lot will depend on Spencer Burford's health. He has been playing hurt and it shows in his performance.
They say the Ravens might not resign there center Linderbaum if that's the case he should be our top target in free agency.
