Why do you laugh?

Do you not agree with Sewell's rating?
Because PFF is an absolute joke.

Do you agree with ranking Penei Sewell at the top of the list? Yes or no.

Do you have stats or metrics you would prefer to use?
I don't need stats or metrics I have eyes.

The eyes tend to only notice the o-line when they screw up.

I saw McCaffrey carry the offense Monday night and yet he was bottom five on offense according to PFF so I'll stick with my eyes.

Time for a shout out for the OL play today. According to ESPN, here is a comparison between Cleveland and SF

--------------------Cleveland ------------- SF
Sacks allowed - 3 ----------------------- 1
TFL allowed - 5 ------------------------- 4
QB hits by 7 ------------------------- 6

Myles Garrett had just the one sack, 3 QB hits, 5 total tackles, including only 2 solo tackles.

For the 49er OL, that is a good day's work against one of the leagues' best defenses and against a scheme that has given us trouble for a decade.

So,

They had a good game against a great d-line, though I think Purdy did a good job avoiding some sacks.

Yes, he gets kudos as well.
The drop off with Trent Williams is dramatic. That said he just played the best guy in the entire NFL. So maybe give him a pass. But not his best game. On the plus side BARF seems to have made huge strides of improvement. He strangely looks great in both the run and pass game with less mental errors too. Great for him and us. Brendal was getting thrown around like the rag doll that he is. But you expect that at this point. Hard to believe we can't find a better Center than that.
I hope they keep stacking it up. The last 3 games are getting to be significant

from what I have seen, they took Garrett off Trent and put him on McKivitz side for at least half a game.

Trent did get burned one time on an inside move. Other than that he played pretty decent. Garrett is really a beast and a lot to handle for anybody. Even for Trent Williams.

Your bias is preventing you from watching the whole game.
Just rewatched the game. Brendel is just so bad. I know we have people defending him when he misses blocks (like John Feliciano saying we don't know his role or scheme or whatever) but when he gets beat it is so so bad. Looks lost and can't recover when he looks like he missed an assignment, gets overpowered or whiffs blocks. One play it looked like a guy threw him like a ragdoll with one hand and almost ended mckivitz's season by flying back 10 yards into the back of his legs. Truly awful. I know his job is hard and maybe he does something right but when he looks bad he looks so so bad.
The OL as a whole played well vs one of the best DLs in football. Had some people in here saying Brock was gonna get sacked 50 times lol.

The o-line has definitely improved throughout the season. I still find it odd they seem to pass protect better than run protect now, but I will take it. I don't see how this next draft isnt o-line heavy with what lies ahead for this unit.
8th best in sacks allowed (20) despite playing 5 defenses in the top 10 in sacks (3 of the defenses in the top 5) and also being #3 in total pass attempts. Some of that is due to smart playcalling and the QBs doing a good job of avoiding sacks, but our o-line is clearly not the bottom tier pass protection unit that some posters here claim it is.
