Yep. Can't generate any power. Need him healthy. The question is whether him playing hurt is going to slow his recovery to 100%?

I love Puni, but man with him in the lineup its always hard to run to the right for this team....not saying its necessarily a correlation, but thats how its been last year and now this year. Running to the right is like pulling teeth, and especially on obvious running downs, the right side often gets not only no push, but is often driven back for a negative play.
With Colby over Bartch, Colby makes the run game better. Id leave Colby there.

Puni likely is not 100% and Bartch got hurt against the Saints. The extent of injury is unknown. Depth in the interior is going to be an issue this year. Colby looks pretty good so far.

LT and Center would be wonderful to address. That said, if our 7th rounder (Connor Colby) plays like that for the rest of the season, I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for a 'high draft pick' getting spent on them.

The problem I have with this line of thought is that it's not at all true. If a stud LT/C is the best player on the 49ers board when they get on the clock in the first round they will take them. The problem is that people just see the lack of spending that pick on an OL and don't tend to acknowledge that they are just refusing to reach for a player they have lower on their board. People don't want them to "reach" but they want them to draft for position ... and they are opposing ideas.
Also, when they DO reach based on the internet lists it's a non-stop narrative here that they did.
Mike McGlinchey was the 9th pick in the draft, and was picked by this front office. Banks was a 2nd. Puni was a 3rd.
They are constantly looking for OL help, that doesn't mean they are there or that they pan out as we would like.
Next year is looking like a deep pool to draw from at least.

Colby payed well.
Bartch get injured when he sneezes - unreliable at best.
Puni seems hurt - not fluid at all.

Kudos to our FO for putting together the 2nd best pass blocking o-line in the league.

Reach or ignore?
You have access to the 49ers big board over the last 10 years?
Internet lists are Irrelavent and its ridiculous to suggest they hold any wait.
They said out loud they dont value the OL position.

No. I wish I did have access to all the teams big boards. I think the NFL should force them to be released 3 years later or something like that.
The only thing internet lists are relevant for was what I said "it's a non-stop narrative here" ... I'm talking about people here valuing them, and that is a fact.
They do value tackle and center (slightly less) ... which is what I specifically said. They don't value the guard position that high. They traded for Trent and has paid him well, and they spent a 1st on McGlinchey.
If the top player on their board when they are on the clock in the first is a tackle they will jump on him just like if the top player on their board is an end.
That said, if the 6th player on their board is a tackle when their pick comes up in the first they will take the 1st player on their board, not the 6th.

This is an old narrative. With a healthy squad we ran just as good to the right as we did to the left behind Trent.

I disagree with you to a degree. At the start of last season we were uniquely running with success to both the left and right. Then the injuries started to pile up and the massively increased workload started to wear Puni down. I'm very optimistic about his performance in the run game, but equally concerned about whether he's going to be able to beat this injury while remaining in the lineup, especially given the lateness of our bye week this season.

Funny to see b***hing about our line week after week as if they're bad, then you watch a game like the texans/bucks where both OLs are getting absolutely demolished and you start to wonder if the complainers ever watch other teams in the nfl

I like Puni but he's clearly hurting. I almost want to see Colby keep playing and Drew moss relieve Puni until he's healthy. Get the youngin some development reps and see how he looks.
