lol. I'm likely in the minority but I do think that the '26 class is the reason we passed on this one. I also think we will be forced to draft for need (they do it anyways) because I can't see us paying McKivitz and Trent is always a question mark

Completely agree. I dont think it was completely intentional. You rank your board out and hope you get good value at OL, but this was a weak class. And strong DT class. So thats the way the cookie crumbles.

Had Banks been there at 11, had Connerly or Donovan Jackson been at 43, had Belton or Ratledge made it to 75 maybe its a slightly different tune. But in the back of their mind they know (assuming good health, assuming good play, assuming they all come out) Banks is probably the 6th or 7th best tackle had he come out with the 2026 class. And whether its from draft position or with our draft capital to move up, we will have the opportunity to get someone next year with a better draft grade than anyone we had a shot at in this draft.

If McK plays like he did in the second half of last season, then he's fine and definitely a bargain.

I see no chance they pay Mckivitz considering what lesser players received on the open market this offseason.

Random but is Hennessy an IOL as well? Suddenly seems like we have pretty decent depth in there.

LG Bartch, Burford, Colby
C Brendel, Nugent
RG Puni, Hennessy(?), Moss

He will be a bargain in the $15 million/yr range...

It will depend entirely on how they see the draft and where we pick.

Starting offensive tackles get paid. There are currently 15 RTs earning $11/yr, with a couple of extensions likely this year that will increase that number. (overthecap)

Lots to pass on. There still UDFA from 2022 to choose from.

Based on his overall play and 49ers tendencies around the OL they should not sign him.

The fact that they've got similar production out of Mckivitz for a fraction of the cost of what the Broncos paid McGlinchey I tend to agree with you.

Touché

Absolutely! The amount of money that average OL get paid in FA is just as absurd as the amount of money that average QBs get paid.

If he improves another year, hes going to be getting a pay raise and its most likely not going to be us.
