Just a numbers game. This year was to fix up the defensive front 7. Next year has to be offensive line. But I doubt they will do it.

It's just f**king stupid. There is no other way to say it. Gruden said it best regarding Purdy..saved their ass. And they still neglect the oline. I dnt get it. This office keeps making stupid decisions and ppl wonder why they dnt have a trophy. Is Kyle a genius? Cause he does seem smart as hell sometimes but stupid as s**t other times. And I am like wt actual f? Lol I am sounding like you today SD haha. This draft was exciting then meh. It could have been better imo but that seems to be the theme of the Niners the last few years or so..could have been better.

I've always known what they are. Shany and Lynch. You can't win like this. The Eagles and Lions build BOTH sides of the trenches. Chiefs even try there. Bears built up the offensive line around Caleb Williams. Serious teams know the OFFENSIVE LINE matters too. You can't just keep pretending that only 1 side of the trenches matters. Like this team. It will be their downfall and has been.

EITHER: a) you are wrong,

or b) you are right and know more about running a professional football team than the people who are being paid millions to do just that.

There was a lot of good stuff in the draft, people that were needed far more than the O linemen. But right now there is a blizzard of negativity here. Now, posters can look on this one of two ways. Either these guys don't know what they are doing, or they do know and there are reasons for it.

If you have to continue this line of discussion please bring a little calm.

folks need to understand the scheme and what is needed to make it go. This is not a Martz offense. It's not a straight drop back passing team. There's a reason they value run blocking & athletic ability.

To that point, here are the rankings for 49er OL, according to PFF:

Tackle - #7 and #34 out of 81 players who had qualifying reps last season.

Guard - #6 and #15 (Bartch did not have qualifying reps but in the reps he did have, he was #15).

Center - #17 of 40.

I will be so bold as to say that is a pretty solid group, with some young talent behind them for depth.

Yeah man. It's not the worst s**t ever. Also Barch was a 4th rd pick just a couple yrs ago. Hennessy was a 3rd rd pick a couple yrs ago (and got hurt). They're not horrible prospects.

I just don't know who folks really really really wanted that was just sitting there when we were picking. s**tty OL draft.

imo fans just wanted to see an offensive lineman picks regardless of talent

Pray for what? Dude was bottom of the league in pressure rate, bottom half in pressures and hits…along with having one of the highest TTT in the league.

He was still running for his life a lot.

But how much should we blame him for not pulling the trigger and how much blame for no one getting separation.

Or C they are just overlooking something that's is obvious to the rest of the world because they are too close to the problem.

You give me hope but we need better talent at OL to compete for winning it all. I don't think this is our year anyway so as long as we focus next offseason we will be ok. Purdy needs more time and since he's shorter (my hight), the pressure need s to be limited up the middle. Burford is better on the left side so hopefully he can improve.

Next year they better step up though and get o line talent.

he was running for a lot of reasons beside blown blocks. Like you said not pulling the trigger, guys not getting open quickly enough, missed reads and choosing to push the ball downfield a ton etc etc.

Absolutely correct. Why KC somehow gets credit for paying 15 mil to a guy the zone hated then following it up with taking an OT first after taking an OT in 2nd last year and an OT in 3rd in 23 while spending huge dollars on a mediocre RT.

Blowing OL picks and FA dollars is fine as long as you appear to try.

Well, don't know about Nugent or Bartch, very optimistic about Hennessy and hopeful about Burford. Looking forward to the pre seasons.

Yes, that said, Brendel is still horrific and needs to be replaced.

To be honest, I hope Hennessy or Nugent take him out at C. Hopefully Bartch can upgrade over Banks.

What people want that advoate for OL talent is the same allocation of resources that was used on the DL in 2025 but in 2024. Strong OL draft in 2024 and we take a Guard in the 3rd. This goes pretty far back in draft years, the lack of draft resources used on the OL. Sure this year was weak but nothing until the 7th.....a WR in the 4th that will probably not even play.

You defend this like your 49ers mangement. I understand they dont see the OL as a top need..... ever......but using players off the reduced rack will impede this offense.
