Yeah the backups were rough out there. They were rough on the broncos too so there seems to be a lack of quality OL throughout the league

Hope he is a diamond in the rough. I remember Sapaulu looking a bit like Manning when he played center. Hope we see more of him in the Denver game. We need depth at the OLine to protect the franchise's Purdy Big 🐔 .
Good call!
Derrick Deese was another tough-as-nails guy who showed up like Jesse too.
Randy Cross, Ayers, Farnhorst etc.. we've had some great OLinemen on those Dynasty years. Guy MacKintyre was another one. All of them athletic, all of them very durable. Personally, between Durability and Talent, I think I'd take durability over talent. Having said that, I do want talent on that OLIne. Specifically, agility, quickness and a good mind -- not necessarily a guy with overpowering strength like Trent Williams, although I'd love to have 8 Trent Williams on our team.
Mckittrick spoiled us.

The positive news is McKivitz looked solid. 2 pressures (throw away and BCB scramble to the 1)? But solid in RB too. Looks a tad slow but hustles.
I saw a bit of the Steelers game and they have waves of pass rush so week 1 is going to be a monster test not only for the OL but the entire unit PP (looking at you TDP).

I don't think I found a single team that was happy with their 2nd team OL

I hope to God we never have TDP in on meaningful pass snaps where he is expected to block.

I'm hoping they get better as the season goes on. It's good that you think Colton is a serviceable right guard this season. I hope he keeps playing like it.
Again, Durability is key. Even if they have Tom Compton-level talent, if they stay durable, healthy, and play -- they can get better over time because of the reps with each other and the reflexes honed with the increase in playing time. They can more easily pick up those stunts and do more difficult combo blocks. Colton, if he stays healthy, could be at Jake Brendel's level by the end of the season, we shall see.
