I was with a large group of long-time Niner fans watching that game and the guy sitting next to me was a high-school friend. He and I had actually been at the playoff game against the Cowboys about 10 years earlier when they had come back to win the game even though they were 11 points down with 1:50 to go in the game. When everyone started jumping up and down screaming 'we're going to the Super Bowl' after 'the Catch', we just looked at each other and we both had the same thought - deja vu. And when Danny White immediately moved them up to mid field, I was pretty sure the Cowboys were going to break everyone's hearts again. Great throw, great catch, but in the end, thank you Eric Wright and Dwayne Board!

Very similar to the current Patriots story. I guess their "The Catch" is "The Tuck"

Isn't that something to be proud of.

Spoiler alert: Eric Wright is actually the Niner who saves the game.

Yup!

AND that game was truly a "Team Effort" by all who played.

I installed this play almost 10 years ago ( I run the spread). And the quick out is almost always open I have only had the QB even attempt the the deep pivot out probably 2 times

That just illustrates how tremendous the play was by Joe. That ball goes to the flat 95% of the time. The first td in this game was on sprint option to the flat.

I love that is was this in 1982

And then with Steve in 1994 it was this

An absolute beauty of a play that dates back to the t-formation and Paul brown in the 50s.
