Niners Salary Cap Situation after Patrick will retirement.

Shop Find 49ers gear online
Post June 1st consideration cuts could be Ahmad Brooks ($4,706,250) and Phil Dawson ($3,134,000).

Pre June 1st could be Stevie Johnson ($6,025,000)

Retirement should be Justin Smith ($6.5M)

Restructure targets could be (Colin Kaepernick, Ahmad Brooks, Phil Dawson, Alex Boone, Navarro Bowman and Vernon Davis)

Bottom line: We're in great shape salary cap-wise and our average age is 26 with a lot of talent...more to come!

Wow, that's terrific.

if he can co-exist with Lynch, our LB's should still be a strength of the team, Bowman and Borland will do a solid job in the middle, I still hope we draft another ILB for quality depth
With Chryst running the offense now, I'm definitely interested in Reggie Bush...he'll use the RB's in different ways than Roman did. Bush out of the backfield or in the slot would create some mismatches. W/SJ getting cut today, it creates cap space to sign Bush and some others. Need a CB, DL, maybe OL. Thanks for the cap breakdowns, guys.

Sounds great, but by the time that all comes to fruition, won't we be late to the party?

I don't know what that has to do with Torrey Smith, but we have good depth with Wilhoit, Moody, and Skov

No, we are only at $127,794,999 right now for our top 51. Add $3.6M for Torrey Smith. So $131M w/o any other moves (including cutting Johnson today which would be another $6M off the books). That's $12M right NOW. That said, more than anything, it allows Baalke to do what Baalke does best...be patient. Offer lots of "fair market contracts" to several FA's now and after the market frenzy slows down to fill out needs (potential starters/fringe-starters for depth) and the rest of the 90-man roster. Also, whatever cap we don't use this year, we get to roll-over to next year for additional "freedom."

I'm gonna miss stevie J

But are switching to a 3 4 or 4 3
Reggie Bush we do not need. He will get injured and aside from a few highlight plays, his productivity will be average at best. He will want to be paid too much and I like Hyde and Hunter. If we want to spend a 4th or 5th round pick on a scat back or something then i am fine with that.

We need to shore up the CB position, Pass rush and O-line in FA and draft.

blind homers, pathetic the way he did that deal to minimize a hit on the cap. typical cheap ass trent. if he wanted to show us he was serious about our team, he would have given gore four years at four plus million and did a bunch of up front money to smith. what message is this sending to the players in the nfl?

Disagree. Bush isn't getting a huge deal from anyone...the last deal he got in 2013 he was only making around $2M per ($1M base, $1M bonus towards the cap) and that's when he was still in his twenties. He's 30 now and won't command that much money, but can still be an effective 3rd down weapon, rotational back with Hyde and contribute on special teams. IMO, he'd be a nice pickup.
