In his most recent blog, he raises an interesting point. Part of it is their own doing (Jed/Baalke) in regards to how they deal with media, players and those they acquire that can't stay out of trouble, coaches, and employees, but the 49ers have a lot of haters (including their own fans!).
He mentions that ex-coaches, employees, and players that don't like the 49ers are going out of their way to make them look bad and we've seen examples of this (Coach Harbaugh, Frank Gore's trainer, Gideon Yu, LaMichael James, Brandon Jacobs). Apparently Mindi Bach was on tv last night and called the Kaepernick trade rumors bogus. She had a well-placed source tell her that teams that are chasing the same FAs as SF are the ones leaking this info.
But because most 49ers fans HATE Trent Baalke, who are they going to believe; him or the media (actually some schmuck talk radio host)?
I don't like it, but this is something they'll have to deal with for the forseeable future.
It doesn't matter if its Eddie D, the Yorks, BW, Harbaugh, Tomsula, etc...the MEDIA drives the image. The off-field issues by the players don't help either with this image by KKFC (locally and nationally...web and TV). But nothing our current players do can come close to Charles Haley and Bill Romanowski. They are LUCKY these didn't play through these times!
And you don't see this in ANY other market. In Seattle, you'll see ANY negative with a positive spin and headline. Here, you'll see ANYTHING (positive or neutral) turned, twisted and spun into the most negative angle/headline. Why does it work in SF? For one, negativity = hits/discussion/interest (just look here in NT!). And for another, I think we have a really depressed fan base (too much rain/lack of light-therapy?) and they LOVE drama.

Its really not surprising. The Niners fan base eats up drama and polarizing articles like its crack so the media just keeps feeding the addiction and people know that they can make stuff up and the media will run with it if its Niner related.

I called this. Would bet dollars to doughnuts that the Iggles were leaking the Kaepernick rumor to try and make Torrey Smith reconsider joining the 49ers as well as potentially create a trade market for a QB theyve coveted.

Discussing drama is the perfect complement to sippin' wine

There has to be some truth to the front office and the way its run. I think NFL players get arrested on a daily basis for various reasons now a days. Our team though seems to get the stories leaked faster or the most headlines. Don't quite understand it but somebody has loose lips under Jed's staff. Maybe they believe in bad publicity.
In the end, I don't care too much about the drama stuff... I am more concerned with the players that beat their girls, or are surrounded by the crazy ones, or drive drunk, etc...
It's makes it hard to root for those guys.

Perfect time for Gamble to leak some dirty laundry about the Iggles. It's still classy because it's revenge.
