Gideon Yu is listed on Wikipedia as the Co-Owner of the San Francisco 49ers. This excerpt from Wikipedia highlights his involvement (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gideon_Yu).

"In his time with the 49ers, Yu led the team's efforts in financing Levi's Stadium, including securing an $850 million stadium construction loan, the largest ever in professional sports, a $200 million financing package from the NFL and the largest long-term stadium financing in NFL history. Yu also directed the 49ers drive to accelerate the opening date of Levi's Stadium from the 2015 to 2014 season. Perhaps the most notable distinction during Yu's tenure at the San Francisco 49ers, however, is that he is the first President of color of any team in the history of the National Football League."

Yu is a highly successful venture capitalist, but the fact that he is our Co-Owner is surprising because I thought NFL teams could only have one owner.

Do any of you know more about Yu's exact role with the 49ers? Is he just a major investor who purchased the honor of co-ownership?

I think he sold his share
Apparently he had a good working rapport w/ Jed York. But something must have happened as they no longer follow each other on twitter and Yu tweeted some pro-Harbaugh statement saying how Harbs took the high road.
jed york is a racist and yu was smarter than him.

At the time of the decision, it sounded like he'd still maintain his share.

I couldn't find anything since January, so maybe his ownership status changed.

Yu sent out a tweet that read: "Thanks to @JedYork for entrusting me to complete your stadium project. Looking fwd to many more years together as 49ers' co-owners!"

Abbott and Costello would have had a hell of a routine w/Yu like they did with "Who's on First?"

Yu was brought in to specifically help facilitate partnerships related to the stadium, from both manufacturing/building and sponsorship standpoints. Now that the stadium is complete they will likely utilize his experience for strategic business purposes, otherwise he is just like another co-owner with a tiny stake that doesn't really do much in the day-to-day operations of the football side.

@gideonyu · Dec 28 Infinite respect and admiration for my friend Jim Harbaugh. I have no doubt his amazing success streak continues wherever he goes.

@gideonyu · Dec 28 The fact that Jim Harbaugh always took the high road just further proves that he's a winner and a class act.

Playing the race card seems dumb. But, then I am just flat out dumb.

In fact, I am willing to bet that I am dumber than you, Yu, and York.
