This. I can't believe this hasn't been brought up yet in this thread (or has it?). He's one of the worst in the media as a Seahawks homer and I don't care if he lives up there or not.

Three consecutive title games blah blah blah….

But did we win??? that is my only question. And the answer is no; we lost 2, and proceeded to a Superbowl loss in the other.

Being content with 2nd place is for the primetime losers.

Hey, I get it, you're a winner. I can tell from your passion and the tone of your post that you don't settle for 2nd place. That said, do you think it was a good move to gut the staff and not promote Fangio and Donatell? I ask because that's actually what we are talking about in this post - whether the niners made the right decision in, quoting John Clayton, "letting the coaching staff go en masse"

The team wanted to keep Fangio as DC without a doubt but on the other side of it, how good of a head coach would Fangio have been in during his 30+ years in coaching had ZERO head coaching experience and has never been seriously considered for any head coaching job before. Who knows for sure if Vic was even a serious candidate?? If he is such a great "hire", why wasn't he being lined up for opening after opening, year after year? This is the first time in 4 seasons I hear Vic's name being tossed out for any HC spot and you clowns wanted him over JT. The Niners had a great D all 4 years with Vic so where were all the HC interviews? Why was this year different? What made him qualify as a prime time candidate this season?

All the the inexperience people use with JT can be said about Fangio. Good coordinators fail as head coaches at least 50% of the time.

Handing over the reins of an elite defense to a guy in over his head and a jackass with hardly any success.

Hahahaha

These guys are so funny now. Derp!

My guess is the bad press will continue.

Timmy K., Anne Killion, and the Cohn idiots are not going anywhere.
The national media seems bereft of anything that resembles journalistic integrity.
let em hate and watch Jimmy Tom-suuu-la win a superbowl. we have the makings of an underdog story and jim seems like the kind of guy whos been dealing with that all his life, now hes the head coach of one of the most storied sports franchises in the world. give Jim a chance, im actually looking forward to see what this guy can do with this roster.

It's too bad. Like a bad apple, collectively, they have done so much damage to our in-house and external media image it's now affecting coaching hires and I wouldn't be surprised if it cost us some FA's as well. The media image of this team is at an all-time low and they have helped lead that charge unfortunately.

SF has a need to find some good teachers in public relations and handling the media. Some basic rules (and the 49er rules violators) .

Do not talk about winning Super Bowls. (York, V. Davis)

Do no talk about winning with class (York)

Learn to speak in complete sentences (Harbaugh, Kaepernick, and Tomsula)

Dam, just use sentences (Kaepernick)

Finish a sentence before beginning a new sentence (Harbaugh and Tomsula)

Do not attack the media in press conferences. (Harbaugh)

Do not demean other teams and talk about their problems. (Harbaugh)

Answer the dam question or politely and concisely decline (Harbaugh, Tomsula, Baalke)

Avoid tweeter, instagram, etc. (York, Kaepernick, James, Kaepernick, A. Davis, V. Davis, A. Davis, Kaepernick, and Baalke's and Harbaugh's kids)

Think before you speak (York, Tomsula, Kaepernick, Harbaugh) "We're the 49ers, we can do what we want."

I think this one has run its course and is also time elapsed. Please move over to one of the many other coaching/coordinator threads.
