shows alot of humility., nice to have a coach who does not rely on cute catch phrases( though talking about justin busting his chops was neat). nice to have a coach who does have a need to crave the spotlight with a ego larger than my daughters grandma lees ass

Getting to bed early, big Jim Tomsula press conference tmrw morning. Absolutely nothing will shock me
Gonna be like this:
Reporter: What do you think about Harbaugh mentioning his decision wasn't mutual?
JT: [nodding his head up and down diagonally] Yeah....mmphg...uhhh...you know...that doesn't deserve a response...you know.
Reporter: So what type of player are you looking for in the draft.
JT: Yeah....umm...[nodding head]...we're looking for a football player...urrgggh...someone who can do something well and we will help him do what he does well, better.
Missed on that one.

Hopefully some people will back off the ledge a little now.
That was a nice insight on Logan at the end there.

Was thinking the exact same thing.
This is the Jim I was expecting at the intro press conference. I guess we can all have a bad day...and even he acknowledges it was a bad one for him.
Was kinda funny to see how often he was referring to Bob Lange, head of PR for the 49ers.

Spoke to Jim Tomsula before his presser. I joked with him about his first presser. He said "yeah that was bad, you live you learn"#49ers
he spoke better; answers are the same though.
So are the questions...so what do we expect
better answers?
I'll never understand this fan base. People cry that we should have never gotten rid of Harbaugh. People cry that tomsula is terrible with the press and doesn't actually answer their questions. Wait... Are you kidding me? Harbaugh was the king of telling the press nothing and was often very confrontational with them. I understand Harbaugh has a winning record but the season hasn't even started yet, so how can judge tomsula? You all act as if our previous coach was so open with the media and now all the sudden our current coach isnt. Its been this way for a while now.

So the new HC actually spends time practicing public speaking to get better at his press conferences. That is what you call attention to detail. that actually has me excited. If he puts that much attention to detail into that i csnt wait to see what he puts into practice and meetings and gameplans. Good stuff

Eric Branch @Eric_Branch
More Jim Tomsula on suggestion he undermined Jim Harbaugh: "If anybody needs to talk just give me buzz. OK?" #49ers

This one was infinitely better. Handled everything great. As expected, the first presser was a complete anomaly and people jumping ship specifically or largely due to that look downright silly now.

Certainly way more relaxed...I called that the PR (Bobby) team would work with him to present himself better, the face of the franchise, etc. He did fine and he comes off very genuine and transparent (almost innocent). He saw an area he needed to improve on, took it head on and even relayed it to the media in true honesty. I think that's terrific!

I liked what he said about the offense going forward. Check that, I love it. Love the fact that he said that while we're moving forward with the same idea conceptually, we're not just going to "white out" a name on the playbook and insert a new name with all the same plays. We're specifically reviewing our personnel so we can RE-DESIGN within the same conceptual frame and put a system in place that will revolve around the strengths of our players and ultimately produce a better product on the field.
I think the way we're going about this transition is the right way. I love the staff we've assembled, have always loved JT as a coach and thought it wouldn't be bad at all for him to get the nod as HC. We'll see what happens this fall, but as I said before, there are numerous reasons for optimism right now.
