Fixing the lack of Noise at the stadium

Has Levi's Stadium been designated Santa Clara's new public library? Maybe fans are just still in shock that we play in Santa Clara

We should all take a lesson from the Raider fans. Yes I said Raider fans. They are ten times more loyal and passionate than fans like..... YOU. They were 1-11 when they faced us this year and based on their crowd support, you would have thought they were in the NFC Championship game.....

It was a general statement about the majority of sports fans, accross any sport. Please, for you sake and mine, do not assume you know anything about me and my devotion for the team. I went to 3 games and did not leave my seat once, but I don't need to explain myself to a troll.

I have said this before and many times over...

-Levi's stadium is brand new, ie many brand new fans or people that have not yet been to the stadium. Most are fair-weather fans or just want to take a selfie at the stadium and post it on their facebook. Once their numbers are minimized, the noise will get better.

-The crowd noise will take a bit to develop {i.e. 2-3 years). About 30% (can't remember the exact number) of the season ticket holders are brand new and have no idea how to attend a football game. However, they are no less of fans than me and you.

-The "pricing out" is complete BS. Every season ticket holder had an opportunity to renew. If they could not afford their section, they could move to a new location. If you landed in the club seats, you could have relocated a couple sections over. PSLs are paid by every new stadium and every new team, regardless if they stayed in SF or moved to Santa Clara.

-I have been a season ticket holder since 2006 (yes, I had hope for Alex) and I don't care what people say, but the fans that attend 49ers games are weak... PERIOD. I have been to many games, including away games in Arizona, London, Seattle, Dallas, and New York. Outside of the UK, where they don't care who wins, all of the others are much better. Maybe it was decent in the late 80's and 90's, but it had not been good in a long time. Some people need to get over that illusion.

-Niners fans need to take lessons from the Warriors fans!

I think it will get better when a) they start winning more; b) playing better; and c) the glamor of a flashy new stadium is gone (2-3 years)

I sit in 112, row 21, seats 15,16. My dad and I had season tickets at Candlestick from opening day for football.

Here's what made the new stadium tough for me regarding noise:
1) it was much hotter than I thought, even into the end of Oct, so many many people, especially in the club, went into the shade
FIX: Put a partial canopy up -- This is pretty obvious,

2) From my seats, during the time the visiting team has the ball, the stadium was playing terribly obnoxious 15 second cuts of super loud music. Rather than get the crow loud and riled up, it was done so badly, a lot of folks went up to the concourses to get away from bad noise and did not participate in good old football noise!
Fix: Fire the megatron opps folks and get people who know how to engage the crowd, not irritate them.

3) Bad offense, people left
Fix: Fire Roman, bring in good OC, keep Harbaugh .. ok, ok, Hire a great coach, get back in playoffs

The second one I just have stats for you.
Seattle population and surrounding areas: 1 million
KC population and surrounding areas: 2 million
SF Bay Area population: 7 million

The last one is so laughable is disgusting. That's such a talking point yet it holds no water. So where is it that these people are flocking to by the thousands that is not available in cold weather places like Seattle and KC? OK the beach but this aint SD. It's SF, the beach is just for show. Can't believe you're telling me that 1% the population has soooooooo many places to go that they just can't choose. Please just tell me one or two places that they're going to.

This summer I loved Kapaa. Loved the wall in Poipu to watch the sunset. Loved the chickens. But your dead wrong on this one.

Maybe you don't realize that the population of San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Texas and the likes are so big because there are jobs to be had there. But that doesn't mean that the people are local. I lived in Los Angeles for 10+ years and 90% of my neighbors were NOT from California. The same reason I was there ... because that's where I got a good job.

Also, just because a city is so populated doesn't mean that a large percentage of them are football fans. Not to mention that not many people can afford the high prices of the games ... especially in this economy.

Also, tell me other than the Boeing Company, how many other large corporations are there in Seattle?

Well dam. I've lived 4 miles from the Stick my whole life. For me, 90% of my neighbors are at least the 2nd generation in the city. And 10% aren't from CA. Pretty sad if not even 1% of the population is football fans. I guess I live in a bubble

I don't think it has to be a Fortune 500 company to buy tickets up and give them away. One of my bro-in-laws family owns an insurance company with maaaaaybe 20 employees and they do that all the time. But OK, I can give you that one. But then does that mean that there are that many more rich people in Seattle then in the Bay? If not, how can they afford their luxury suites, the club lofts, their premium seating, etc. I'm assuming they didn't have SBL'S with astronomical prices to worry about. Our theory is that the corporations bought those up.

How about NY, Washington DC, Philly, Boston, Chicago, etc. Their situations should be the like the bay right? Tons of corporations, people there for good jobs, etc, etc. and their crowds do way better than ours. People make noise, aren't in the clubs during the game and have a respectable HFA. We already know there's plenty to do in those cities other than football but they still have a packed house.

Hopefully the enviorment and homefield advantage impoves next year. The croud participation was good at times but down right pathetic at others. Just like the team, the crowd needs to be more consistant.

Boeing moved to Chi! Probably still have manufacturing capacity in Seattle. Anyway, aren't Starbucks based there?

This rant is about the Noise level of the home crowd at the stadium. It was sub par, it was embarrassing. You know it and I know it. THE 49ERS front office and the players on the field know it. Instead of complaining about it, I've decided to put on my marketing hat in attempts to help the team solve the issue.

I sit in section 109. My fellow fans in that section must dislike me. I am constantly turning around in attempts to get fans involved in the game from a noise perspective. I chastise fans for being too " wine and cheese". Right around the 3rd game, I took my 20 oz. empty soda cup, I took my car key and I carved the bottom part of the cup out. For the rest of the game, I used that as a sound cone to yell through. Fast forward to the Charger game. I took a look around during the 2nd quarter and noticed 7 people in my section "borrowed" my sound cone idea. My son is the one that pointed it out. He said, " dad, they stole your idea ". The lightbulb went off.....

My idea is for the 49ers to sell a cup with a bit more of a cone shape than the existing cup. The bottom should be perforated, with two little pop out handles on it.
( Like coffee cup handles ) . On the side of the cup on both sides in big letters, it should read, "NINER NOISE". This way, when the sound video personnel need more noise, then can illustrate someone on the large video screen yelling through the cone. And they can call out for NINER NOISE to urge the crowd on.

Too many benefits to list.
1. Gets the crowd more involved in having fun and supporting the team.
2. Helps sell more soda. ( Jed will love this )
3.Could potentially be free if they allow a corporate sponsor added to the Noise cone.

Thats a great idea! Even love the "niner noise" branding lol.. I typically just cupped my hands because there's nothing I can buy or that I'm allowed to bring in with me.

Don't know why this picture fell off. Anyway this was the shirt I designed to get the quiet fans in our section to figure it out.....

I can help you Niner fans out with all this!!! People hate to be outed for anything. So create a twitter or facebook account called real fans!!! While you are at the game start taking pics of lame fans being to cozy to cheer and upload them to the account. Start calling these bad fans out.
