Keep in mind that out of all the coaches that have been or will be hired, the 49ers and Raiders are the only ones to hire a guy that wasn't shown interest from at least one other team.

I think they knew who they wanted from the get go and since they were biased towards Tomsula from the beginning, they never really approached other candidates with an open mind, whether it was Shanahan, Bowles, Austin, Gase, whomever, when you favor someone like that, you look more closely at the flaws rather than the strengths of the other candidates. I double checked, no unicorns, BUT it has really colorful horseshoe marshmallows and that's close enough.

Yes, this whole coaching search was a SHAM....They did want Tomulsa all along not because he is the best candidate...because was the cheapest solution.

Well if the front office wanted more power they certainly got it with this hire. Jed York may have also put his arse on the line with it as well. Not simply to hire an unknown, not just for passing over other more qualified candidates but for firing a successful coach to do so.

Dad is probably still in charge, like most family businesses. Think about it, would you hand over a billion dollar business to your inexperienced son and just let him run with is? Of course not

Jed was promoted to be the face guy because nobody liked Dad and Dad didn't like he public spotlight.

Well, if the stadium is empty and fans discombobulated nobody wins. Unless the team actually pulls together a deep playoff run under these conditions.

Not too pissed about the HC choice but losing Vic is a gut punch. I've not been paying attention to 49er news last couple weeks so I didn't see this coming.

Word is we're bringing the stadiums groundskeeper in as defensive coordinator. They guy in charge of the grass. Either that or the Raiders coach. About the same thing.
