What the Gase is going on? If Baalke gets Elway'd then all hope is lost.

I'm not a fan of this hire if it is indeed Gase, but if you come in and improve the offense and win a few games players will respect anyone of any age.

No to the McDaniels/Kiffin comparison. He sounds much more mature and less arrogant. As far as commanding respect, you do that by being organized, having an intelligent plan and teaching a successful scheme. He'll need the support of his fellow coaches, which he will have if Baalke and York pick him as HC.

Marvin--he wasn't my first, second or third pick as head coach, but I'm hoping he's the real deal I thought we were getting with Harbaugh--a creative, quick minded offensive coach. We need to keep reminding ourselves that if the defense continues to be in the top five, the offense only needs to improve...not be dominant. Gase is the most upside potential of any coach mentioned, so

Our average age on offense and defense is 26. He puts the vetarans in place to succeed, they will follow him anywhere. It will still have to be earned though.

Hopefully it was a "thanks for your time, youre going to be great in SF" meeting.

Gase is just using Elway to get more money from Jed. Without Manning the Denver job is crap. Even if Peyton returns for next season you figure he is probably done after that.

My understanding is that with the Niners accelerating the timeline on Gase, Elway wanted to get a better idea of where things are.

This could certainly pave the way for Gase to formally interview for the Denver job. Will be interesting to see where all this goes next.

LOL, well - it was definitely their year last year and they are healthy and peaking again. Hard to argue its a great defense. To my defense i did say HAS BEEN. So Sunday is still yet to come!

Typical webzone behavior. Everyone is convinced that Gase made Peyton (and not the other way around), and therefore Gase being the offensive genius that he is will get Kaep to function like Peyton, except on steroids bc Kaep has a bigger arm and is more mobile. Oh, and remember how Seattle owned the Broncos O ? Thats to Gase, thats all Manning and his misthrows and dropped passes and bad reads. Clearly, when the Broncos do great, its all Gase and his brilliant playcalling. When they get beat down or ousted from the playoffs, its all Manning and his noodle arm.

In that respect, why even give guys like Shanahan another thought. Who wants a guy that helped develop Young and that monster 94 SF offense. The guy that won multiple SBs with an aging Elway. The guy that made no-name RBs household names by back to back to back x infinity 1000 yard rushing seasons bc of his zone blocking scheme ? We don't need that has-been. The guy that Peyton Manning will credit for his HOF career deserves to be our HC.
