part of the reason why I never liked roman is his reluctance to keep committing to the run if it isn't working initially...and getting away from it on some reverse psychology bs. in this game gore was getting it from the get go and he got fed plenty. maybe this is not the thread to ask but anyone else feel like gore should be fed more carries ? when you watch seattle and their run game aint working, they will still pound the rock and are patient.

Not in the Dallas game. Lynch had like 2 carries in the first half.

2Q 3rd & 8

49ers: Basic clear by Lloyd for Crabs to work his Out route from the slot.
ARI: cover 1 (5 man pressure). The slot CB lined up over Crabs will come on a blitz.

49ers pick up the blitz. With the safety taking Crabs and giving a cushion, Crabs has space to work his route and spins the safety around. Kap is mid windup.

+20 yards

Was this the last big hook up for the KapTree connection? Maybe? Maybe not? Hopefully? Would have been nice if they hooked up on a fade route in the end zone just to show they can get it right.

Crabtree is a beast after the catch, I wish we would have worked in more plays to get him the ball and let him break it into the next level.
Thanks again for all the hard work this season… sucks we have to wait 9 months for more of it.

Both of these plays are what define Kaepernick.

The first is what has been missing and what makes him extremely dangerous. If he can continue to fake run/climb the pocket and gun lasers in stride, jeez this O will be dangerous.

That second play, was a 57 yard bomb on a rope, right before taking a hit. Not too many Qbs would even attempt that (Romo probably), much less pull it off. He's done it twice this season and should have done it a third time last week.

Man oh man Kap can become, key word "can become" an elite QB, one I don't think we've seen before. He's totally different from almost all mobile QBs playing right now. It's so weird.

To start the 2nd half, the 49ers would get a first down to move the chains, then proceed to shoot themselves in the foot. Quite symbolic of the way things went this season.

1st & 10 - False start on Gore
1st & 15 - +3 yard run
2nd & 12 - Incomplete pass. Offensive pass interference (declined).

3rd & 12
Screen pass to Alfonso Smith

Smith throws a block and releases to make himself available for the pass.

With three blockers in front and ready to go, Smith drops the pass.

Incomplete. Punt.

After a Cully INT to get the ball back, the 49ers would drive down the field to score the go ahead TD. Two big chunk plays highlighted the drive.

3Q 2nd & 8
ARI: cover1 (5 man pressure). The orange LB's man coverage assignment is Gore.

ARI rushes 5. With Gore appearing to flare out to the edge of the formation, the orange LB follows Gore.

Along with an undisciplined pass rush by the ARI interior DLmen, this leaves a scrambling lane and the middle of the field wide open. Kap takes off on the scramble.

In the 1st half, Gore's runs were: -1, 6, 6, 5, 3, 2, 2, -1, 2
9 carries for 24 yards (2.7 ypc)

You are right, they continued to feed him, perhaps as a send off (tear). He rewarded them by finishing with 25 carries for 144. That's 16 carries for 120 yards in the second half.

On the next play after the 30 yard scramble.
1st & 10
Split zone. The Oline flows to its left as Miller comes back across the formation to block the cutback defender.

Oline flows left. Miller identifies his block.

Gore cuts back against the flow of the Oline and finds daylight.

+20 yards.

49ers would punch it in using a play we saw a lot of last season, not so much this season because they simply didn't get inside the 5 yard line often to run this play and take advantage of their power running threat.

3Q 1st & goal
49ers will use playaction to get Miller open in the end zone. Last season, VD caught about 5 TDs just like this.

After playaction, Kap rolls right. Orange LB, for some reason, lets Miller cleanly go by him.

Pitch and catch.

Miller tippy toes both feet in for the Touchdown.

With the 49ers leading 20-17 and close to their own goal line, the 49ers faced a 3rd down that had they not converted, would have given ARI the ball back in good field position. A few posters mentioned this as a throw that stood out in the game.

4Q 3rd & 9
49ers: Drive concept over the middle. Out route from Lloyd.
ARI: cover3

Kap completes his dropback and looks to his left.

With the deep third defender gaining a lot of depth, Kap targets Lloyd on the Out route.

Kap drops it in to Lloyd just out of the reach of the curl/flat defender.

+14 yards.

This is probably the last we see Lloyd in a 49er uniform. Thanks for all the hustle.

Later on that drive.

4Q 2nd & 13
49ers: Guard Lead left. This is different from Power because the playside guard will pull (Iupati).

VD moves to the second level. Iupati identifies his block.

Iupati kicks out the force defender and Gore has room to run.

+24 yards.

Is this the last we see of Iupati in red and gold? If so, thanks for the mauling over the years. Is this the last we see of Gore? Man, say it ain't so.

With SF leading 20-17, ARI would get the ball back at their own 20, with 2 minutes left.

1st & 10
Lynch with a punch of the left hand and rip with his right to notch his 6th sack of the year. Nice start to a career.

-9 yards
