The bolded part in your post is why I voted "yes" even though his yards-gained numbers are not as high as some other running backs who have made it into the HOF. Pass blocking is a very important part of the game for a running back and should be given considerable weight. It's a team sport and an excellent pass blocking back like Gore adds a lot to the chances of the team winning a game.

Anyway, hopefully he gets a chance to play a couple of more years at least to get to the total yards that will make it more certain he will become a HOFer.

He may get in eventually but not anytime soon.

Running backs with better stats are not in the HOF so I don't think he's going to get in anytime soon.

well yeah, first he needs to finish his career, pass some other guys on the charts, then wait 5 yrs so....

whatever he lacks in eloquence he makes up for by speaking from the heart and being real

He will be a first Ballot. Still has two years in the tank. Possibly another 1k yard season depending on how the cards fall.

I think he ends somewhere in that #7-10 slot on the all time list.

If he stays in SF and make it here, he becomes one of 4 RB's in the top ten to have only played with one team.

He will knock Marshall Faulk out of the top ten. He will be the first RB to get there since LT, and the only RB of his generation to get there, unless AP manages to get back and get into the top ten.

One of the best Blocking RB's all time. Overcame adversity and injuries that end careers. One of the superstars of a generation who played the majority of his career for a storied franchise in the depth of a dark age. His Playoff numbers aren't shabby either for how little he was there. It sucks he wasn't in the post season more often.

Frank Gore will be a first ballot Hall Of Famer. He doesn't need a super bowl at this point. He deserves it more than any other human being alive though.

Get him over 12,000 yards and they have to put him in. He's deserving. The longevity and consistent production is there. Long been the best in pass pro, and was a featured pass catcher when he was younger. Carried the franchise for many years. True warrior. He's the very definition of a HOFer. Will forever be pissed if he doesn't go out with a ring.

Say we sign him for a 2yr deal and he puts up around 1500yrds in those years.(12580)Then we cut him and he wants to show the league that he's still "the man" and signs with a crapy team where he's the feature back. He gets another 2yr deal and in his first year they go 3-13 but they run the s**t outta him and he puts up 1200yrds(13580) The following year he only puts up around 700 and ends up around 14,2-something 4th all time....HOF for sure....lol. but I could see something like that happening. Depeneds on how much longer he goes. He's basically at event horizon right now. There are 4 running backs ahead of him on the all time rushing list that arent in at the moment and one of them is Tomlinson. Corey Dillon, Fred Taylor and Steven Jackson are the other three. I dont see Dillon or Taylor as a HOF. And i would say Jackson isnt as well. Gore is about 300 yards away from passing Jackson and Jackson came into the league 1 year earlier.


Now where it gets hard is with rushing TDs. Gore is pretty low as far as that stat is concerned. He has 64 career rushing TDs atm which is 42nd all time.



Now where my homerism comes in and says he is a hall of famer is because he has played on some pretty horrific offenses and has been the workhorse for so long. I mean the box has basically been loaded up his whole career. But will the pundits take that into consideration? Who knows. He's not first ballot and if he can go a couple more years then he will have the rushing yards IMO.


Also something worth noting is his fight against father time in this games era. The turnover at RB is higher than it's ever been. Seems like running backs are a dime a dozen now. Lots of teams have a multiple back system too, (and we do too to some extent). But Gore has been our fixture for 10 years. And i think that says a lot about him as a professional. Dude's heart is unquestionable.

Highly possible in today's timeshares that this list doesn't see many new names through gores selection process.

hes borderline. if he retires after this season, he wont get in first ballot for sure, but he may eventually get in, but it will take a while
a couple of more 1k years will do the job though. even one more productive year will boost his stock considerably.
