I always read your posts because they are detailed and really interesting.

I read that you are a fan of Kubial solution but I think he would a terrible choice.

Kubiak is a Norc Turner clone. Terrific OC but mediocre HC.

Kubiak lacks fire and leadership skills, Houston always collapsed in the fourth quarter.

Please No Kubiak. He would be frustrating choice

This team had a 20-7 lead over the Bears at the half this year and ended up losing somehow. Daaaaaaaaaaaa Bears.............the same team that just got waxed by New Orleans at home.

I get what you're saying and I think in any interview questions about be asked as far as the specific mistakes he felt that he had made in Houston and what he thinks he could improve on, how he's changed...etc. For the record I think Kubiak is a far better coach than Norv, Norv has been dismal in three separate stints and I don't have any thought of him ever getting another opportunity again. I think that with this roster and hopefully this defensive staff, Kubiak is an intriguing choice, if he got the OL right, if he got the running game cranking, there is no limit to where this team could go.

Kubiak makes a lot of sense in SF. We overlooked him this whole time.

And you know this how exactly? Fangio was an assistant and a defensive coordinator in the NFL for a long time before he got involved with Jim Harbaugh, just because he came over with with him from Stanford doesn't mean he's going to go bouncing around the NFL just because he does. Fangio's contract also lasts through 2015, meaning he can't just up and leave suddenly unless its for a head coaching position.

If the 49ers offered him a head coaching spot, it'd be silly to think he'd turn it down so he could play Robin to Harbaugh's Batman.

Then again he wasn't considered a good defensive coordinator before hooking up with Harbaugh. He might have loyalty to him for reviving his career.

where did you get that from? he was a damn good coordinator long before he hooked up with Harbaugh

Wait, who had a 28-0 lead over the Bears and ended up losing?

I know we were up 20-7 in our game against them and lost.
We need a new coach that will define the new West Coach Offense like Ron Carragher of San Jose State.

He was pretty bad in Indy, Jim Mora Sr got s**tcanned because he refused to fire Fangio.
I mentioned this in the thread that got locked.

If we could keep the majority of the defensive staff intact, I like the idea of a guy like Kyle Shannahan.

I know he is really young, but IMO he could be a great long term HC candidate.

IMO it wont be long before he gets a shot a a HC position.

No, you're right, sorry, not sure about what I was thinking but they were up 20-7 at the end of the first half and then Chicago scored 21 unanswered points in the 2nd half including 2 TD's in the 4th quarter.

My issue with Shanahan, as well as Gase and a few others is.....how willing is the defensive staff going to be to work with guys that young, particularly Fangio who's been around the block and then some and now has to listen to some kid. I like Gase a lot but I've wondered the same thing about how the staff itself would accept him being boss.
Kubiak is the best fit imo. But it's also a bigger reward (and gamble) to go for a coordinator. You know what Kubiak can do and he is good but you can find better candidates.

Yeah, we did. He never even crossed my mind. Subconsciously we probably only remember the disaster last season in Houston, but he's a damn good coach.

If the key to fixing this team is offense, he's the man. Look at what he's done with Baltimore in just 1 season. Their offense was completely broken, similar to what we're experiencing now, and he turned it around no problem with many of the same players.

Coaching and scheme is HUGE in this league.

You can also find far worse candidates.

I look at a guy like Gase and I think he can be the next brilliant offensive mastermind of the NFL, a Sean Peyton kind of guy, he's been working towards this since he was 18, his ability to adapt and change up his approach, to be aggressive and now also utilize the run more, that could work wonders for this team. Then I think.......what if he's a guy like Trestman who's a genius on offense but doesn't have the presence or persona to command an entire locker room the way a guy like Harbaugh or Pete Carroll does.....

That's why it's a gamble. You know what a guy like holmgren and Kubiak can do, but a new guy can be much better. But like you said, the guy could be a huge flop.

Damn it why can't Harbaugh just fire roman

Everyone does judge Kubiak off his stint in Houston, but imo 1 stint doesn't make a carrer so I think Kubs still has a lot of potential.

Plus Bellicheck wasn't all that great when he coached the Jets.
Now comes the question of...

Will Harbaugh turned down the Michigan's offer of 48 million for 6 years???
