Winning bowl games that aren't THE game is like winning playoff games that aren't the Super Bowl. Nobody cares.
I care.

Cmon man. Your tripping over your own feet. Not the same at all considering you have to win playoff games to get to the SB
If you dont want the hire thats cool but to start spitting nonsense crushes the validity of your argument

Tomsula is Singletary part 2. York and baalke both hired Singletary and should see how that failed. Flipping fools if they hire tomsula

Winning playoff games is great. But who's satisfied with trumpeting playoff wins without the final payoff? Are you? This isn't a particularly complex argument.
Jim Harbaugh, 5 playoff wins. That's why we talk about the quest for six right? Or is it Lombardi trophies. You tell me what counts.

I would take Holmgren over any of the guys mentioned in the last 10 pages of this thread.
Of the young guys, I would take McDaniels over Gase or Kyle Shanahan.
Of the DCs, I'd take Fangio over Ryan, Mora Jr., Bowles or Quinn. But Bowles is intriguing.
I am not as concerned with hiring a guy with a defensive background. It's worked with Carroll, Belichick, Tomlin Guys like Fisher, Pagano, Rivera have built good programs. The key with a defensive coach is the QB needs to be solid but not necessarily all time great for it to work over the long term. Wilson, Brady, Big Ben, Luck, even Cam
The two most important hires are coach and QB. If the team thinks Kap is the man then hiring a defensive coach won't be a huge deal.

I am interested in Gase but not so much McDaniels. Has a good offensive pedigree but maybe not the temperament to be a head coach. Wasn't respected in Denver from what I hear

The search was "anticipated" to last 7 to 10 days, it does not mean we will know on the 10th day. They could take longer than that if they don't like where they are with the search.

I think given his abilities most offensive guys would welcome the challenge. Based on that one jump throw to Boldin alone ... How many coordinators salivated over Vick?

They didn't usher him out. Mora made the bonehead move of publicly "joking" that he was going to quit to coach the University of Washington (or wherever it was). He got fired for being an idiot.
Carroll falling in their laps thanks to a well timed scandal was just icing on the cake.
The UW joke thing happened back when he was with the Falcons, unless you're saying he did it with the Seahawks, too.

kap is already greater than vick. he's already shown he can stand in the pocket and deliver when given normal time to and he is not looking to run the ball when his 1st read isn't there. he's also shown that he will compete hard no matter what..the last 2 games showed that with nothing to play for..while we see someone like cutler check out midway through the season.
nobody who puts on the tape is going to not want to work with kap. he has the most potential out of any of the young qb's out there.
