He has won back to back bowl games.

Completely turned around a Bruins football program.

If we go defensive HC, I'd rather just hire Fangio or Tomsula. They've actually been a big part of our recent success and already have the players trust and respect. Unless there is some hotshot defensive coach that impresses the hell out of Jed and Baalke, but I don't think Mora or anyone else is that guy. Fangio reportedly had a very impressive interview. Lasted 6 hours.

but the media will like him better than jh and thats all that matters . 8-8 with a good relationship with the media is good enough,, plus he will bring zero discipline to this team, who were near the top of the nfl in penalties anyway
Didn't the seahawks lead the league in penalties and win the super bowl? I known they were near the top last year and this year.

Winning bowl games that aren't THE game is like winning playoff games that aren't the Super Bowl. Nobody cares.

I just can't wrap my head around the idea that replacing Harbaugh with Jim Mora Jr. will get us over the hump.
it is not even a upgrade. can you picture him working with ck to help him get better? hahahah

nobody is going to be seen as an upgrade, at least initially. thats the reality of the situation we're in.

Can't wait to see everyone's reaction when Tomsula is hired on Tuesday.

dont think anything is coming down by tuesday

It's already done. This is all for publicity and due diligence.

Well, Baalke said he wanted to find the next HC in 7-10 days. Don't know how realistic that is, but I'd love to get this resolved quickly.

It will be announced Wednesday at the latest.

as mentioned before, fangio used to work under the older mora in indy. if the younger mora gets the gig in theory theres a decent chance vic stays

Good god I'm gonna be pissed, will be fine and dandy early but when the motivational speeches get tiring and the losses pile up its gonna be singletary 2.0

What? Lol. Were Pete Carroll and John Harbaugh super bowl winning coaches when they got hired? Tomlin?

and what about the 8 or 9 years he stayed in denver after elway retired?

You mean the years he was cranking out top offenses with brian griese and jake Plummer at qb. Plugging in any running back and getting a 1000 yards. And giving brady & belichick their first playoff loss and getting to a conference title game with jake Plummer at QB.

I said it yesterday, Mike the personnel guy let down Mike the coach. That wouldn't be theb deal here if he was hired.

Get ready to be pissed. At least Singletary had the experience as a great player to go with the speeches.

I really don't think Fangio is leaving regardless. I know reports say he'd want out if he's passed up for the HC gig, but I think thats crap. He's not a HC candidate anywhere else, and this is the most talented defense available for him to coordinate.

I'm just wondering why we are saying the guy who did something good in the past is inferior to the guy who has done nothing at all. Doesn't have to be a SB winner but why dismiss someone who is?

Added: personally, I like Shanahan. there may be plenty of reasons he's not the guy, but "he won the super bowl too long ago" isn't the most compelling one in my opinion
