I like PFT's take on it, basically Yeah it was the wrong call, Yeah people are pulling for these types of penalties to be reviewed, but Yeah go f**k yourself 49ers.

I'm also hoping they do away with the illegal contact rule. I hate that after 5 yards you can't touch the WR. It's so embarrassing some of the calls being made. How does Goddell not see how bad it's making the game.

I can't stand Florio, but I didn't read that article that way. To me, it looked as if they posted it just as a matter of fact, with no opinion one way or another.
With that being said, if the tables were turned, and that had gone against Seattle; we would never hear the end of how the Seahawks were robbed.

I think it should be called because that is how Seattle became so dominant on D. Without it, the defense is still really good, but not dominant like they were a year ago.
I do think that they call it far too often. It should only be flagged if the contact turns a receiver against his will. There are times when the guy is simply touched, and it has zero impact, but gets called. There are others where they don't call it and it is far too obvious to not be called. There are inconsistencies all over the field, and it is sad.
As an out of the box side note, maybe the league should just do away with the helmets...? Players play wreckless because they think they are protected by the helmet. If you took it off, the players would adjust. Rugby does it...

I hear ya. I was just starting conversation. I heard someone mention that they should have full time refs as part of the NFL. I agree. It's not like the NFL can't afford it. Then when refs screw up so blatantly you fine and/or suspend them. If that is the case refs would think twice before letting the flags fly. The refs have so much power over a game. They could determine a winner and loser outright.
Pereira suggested that just the personal foul and PI calls be reviewed, and that not all officials, but at least the head officials should be full time employees of the league. This is the best way to approach the change, but it is definitely a change that needs to happen. Without holding the officials accountable, it is not too far off to believe that there may be a Tim Donaghy situation happening. I'm not saying it is, but the longer that these obviously blown calls go without the ability to review or challenge, the more it looks like the league is covering up the "incompetence" of their officials.
they should also review the targeting calls just like in CFB

You guys wanna know why the league can get away with screwing teams over week after week, year after year?? Its because the NFL is a MONOPOLY!! They have literally NO COMPETITION here in this country! I guarantee you if there were another football league here in the states with just as much money & power that the NFL has... you wouldnt see this type of bullchit running rampant in the league! They are directly affecting the outcome of games for playoff matchups & TV ratings. Higher TV ratings = more lucrative TV contract deals!! And anyone that says we would have lost anyway is stupid... the team was in it up until that bullchit call!! That call took the wind out of everyone on the dam team... When it happened, everyone knew we were being screwed over, so why bother trying anymore when anything you do gets wiped out with a BS penalty?? National FIXED League... a running friggin JOKE!!
True ! This has become the p@ssy league that it is due to greed and money.

The biggest thing I hate about the rules is how many ticky tack calls warrant an automatic 1st down and the half the distance penalties. The rules don't even out
If you get a defensive holding call it's an automatic 1st down and the yardage but it you get an offensive holding it's yardage and you get the down over. I'm fine with the the way it is penalized against the offense but I think a lot of the defensive calls should only warrant a 1st down if the yardage takes you past the markers. So many little fouls that keep drives alive. I know the NFL is trying to make football exciting and wasn't lots of points but for every high scoring game there is a low scoring one as well
As far as half the distance for example if the team is on offense if you are backed up at your own 12 yard line and you are called for a holding penalty the ball should go back to the 2 not the 6 in a half the distance scenario.

I hate the call the Eric Reid hit call was garbage to. Pulling yourself out of your natural position is going to lead to more injuries. Its impossible to prevent concussions in this sport its just the nature of the beast.
Also the league doesn't really care about player safety they just don't want their $100M QBs to get hurt. Its about protecting the $$$ not about protecting the player.
With that said I'm not too disappointed with the result of the game. This is a slightly above average banged up group this year. Seattle is the better team at this point and losing and being eliminated from the playoffs just gets rid of any false hope I had about the the offense coming around and clicking to take us to the 6th title.
Now I am on to 2015 and can put most disappointing and frustrating season I can remember to bed.

Like I said earlier, the freakin REFS have decided to just give the game to Seattle... I'm sick to my stomack on how the NFL can allow this zebras keep calling games after games ...
that's why I was so happy to see Santana Moss curse the hell out of the ref even following him around as he was walking away.. freakin zebras should also get penalized for throwing flags when they are obviously at a wrong angle ..
is it really the players fault that some can hit harder than the others?? that call against Reid was big too!!

Seriously, I'd actually enjoy it if a couple of DB's/DE's took it upon themselves to openly mock the NFL by passing up obvious hits by throwing their hands up and whiffing just as they zero in on a big hit or sack. I'm sure it would do nothing to sway decision makers, but it would be funny to watch. They'd probably get flagged for taunting the refs.

You do realize that even the majority of Seahawk fans are saying how it was a stupid call?
