A guy who won a Superbowl with a stacked roster someone else had built and then had a losing record in the following 6 years with Tampa Bay, basically drove out the GM who built that team, pretty much left them in shambles as he headed for the exits..................


45-53 was his final record with the Bucs and they haven't recovered from the Gruden era yet. To me he's basically a middle class man's version of Ken Whisenhunt. Still the most overrated coaching candidate that I hear people bring up.

Sounds like us but HE won the Superbowl! I stopped reading after that.

I picked Pep Hamilton, but honestly I'd like to see JH back, but with a seriously reduced role. He should just concentrate on head coaching and not being senior OC. I'd like to see us get rid of Roman and bring in a real offensive mind who could design a system around Kaep's ability. In this day and age it's hard to find really good HC's. So I think York, Baalke, and JH should figure this thing out.

Also, I think JH should really eat some humble pie. Right now, that would be very nutritious for him. His idea of trying to turn Kaep into Manning or Brees was a real mistake - a fools errand - that wasted a whole season, and he needs to admit that. But at the same time the front office needs to take a step back and swallow some of its pride and ask themselves: what coach is out there is a better option than JH?. Plus losing JH could mean losing Fangio as well, and that we cannot survive.

I'm surprised nobody is talking about Brian Billick. I think the Niners would have a better chance to get him than Chucky and a better fit for this team.

Fact is none for the coaches on that list is better than Harbaugh, so it will be a downgrade. A lot of key veteran players are past their prime and need to be replaced. Its gonna be tough stretch coming up.

Don't think he'll do that. Too big of a hit to his ego. He's lost a majority of the players and if this happens he'll really lose them all.

I totally agree...why does his name keep getting brought up? Like you said he won a SB with someone else's team and then basically did nothing the rest of the time. I still like Gase or Pep as the top options.

Billick is a homegrown coach and in the Bill Walsh, Holmgren coaching tree.

He can not only install the WCO properly but also teach it's principles which is completely lacking here now in every WCO design. Because for his career his offenses ranked an average of 19th. In Tampa his offense ranked an average of 20th. How exactly is he supposed to "teach" Kap anything? He has never developed a QB in his 11 years of coaching. I know we all love to watch him do his QB schools during the draft but doing a produced ESPN show doesn't make him a QB guru. Kap might actually look worse under Gruden, scary i know!

I wouldn't trust Kap in the WCO... would take too long for him to learn.

great OCs dont mean winning football. Harbaugh's teams won many games, he pushed the right buttons to motivate these guys and buy in to what he was doing. I hope Im wrong but I got the feeling things are gonna get worse before they get better.

That is a depressing ass list of coaches. Holmgren? Who wants that old turd. That's like when the Skins brought back Gibbs just for nostalgia purposes.

The question is lose Harbaugh and possibly Fangio or do this all over again next year and waste the talent? Yes Fangio is awesome but we'll never win anything with this offense the way it is. The offense needs a major change even if that means us taking a hit on the defense next year. The talent on defense next year will help any possible new coordinator if Fangio left with Harbaugh. I think top 10 is beyond possible if not better based on talent alone.

Harbaugh had already done the "concentrate on coaching only" the day he agreed to sign the contract.. and deep down, the problem now is due to this mistake... little by little, he may have asked for something that did not get, and Baalke may have reminded him more than a few times what his responsibilities only are... and if he had to do it all over again, Im sure Jim woulda signed with the Dolphins then for more money and more power..

The damage's done, it's no used repairing it...

Will just hope that CHUCKIE can take this very talented team in the Super Bowl next year, afterall, that's what he did w/Tampa Bay.. He inherited a very good team that was ready to make that step, and just put his touch on its offense..
