Tomsula - DC & Assistant HC
Bryant Young - DL Coach & Assist
Pepper Johnson - LB Coach
Eric Wright - Secondary Coach

Tom Holmoe - Special Team Coach

Kubiak - OC & QB Coach
Rathman - RB coach
Ed McCaffrey - WR coach
Bo Pelini - OL/TE coach

Tom Holmoe?? wtf

No more DCs as assistent HCs! It means the team will be stuck promoting him to HC should something happen to the HC! Think Singletary! Kubiak as assitant HC I could go for...but not as my first choice for OC.

Holmgren as head coach.

Mornhinweg as OC.

PURE West Coast Offense...

Wayche was Joe Montana's first QB coach with the 49ers! You cant get better then that! As we all know he took Cincinnati to the Superbowl... And almost won it! Boomer Esiason had 3 pro bowl seasons under him! His 64 wins with the Bengals is 2nd best in franchise history! He was a QB coach in 2005 so he hasn't been out of the game that long. The guy knows offense!

Holmgren and wyche are on two totally different levels in terms of success. Wyche's last HC job was 1995, thats a big difference from Holmgren last job in 2008. Everybody keeps throwing out this 1997 as the last time Holmgren was good/relevant. Holmgren was putting forth good offenses thru out most of the 2000's til he retired in '08. Again it's a huge overstatement, in trying to portray him as this geezer that has no clue about "modern" football.
If I have three choices: Mark Helfrich, Kyle Shanahan, or John Gruden

At the end of the day, there's a very VERY low chance Holmgren ends up with the 49ers.

IMO, and some of these guys have to get fired first, the 49ers will look at:

NFL
Sean Payton (if fired)
Rex Ryan (if fired) - However, he will NOT have total control over his coordinator hires
Eric Mangini - with partial staff control
Mike Shanahan
Gary Kubiak - with partial staff control
Hot Name OC's (some of them are already in the posted list)

College
Helfrich
RichRod
Shaw "very outside chance"

Note: the aforementioned coaches were selected with Kaep in mind.

These are my guesses. Now, honestly, I'd say the smart money may be on Mangini. Not saying I agree, I just think that it makes the most sense regarding comfort and consideration.

Before you blast, I'm not saying I agree with any of the proposed. Just doing my best to read tea leaves and someone else's mind.

Mark Helfrich.
I am seriously concerned about the York's "hire from within" concept. First Baalke, then promoting Singletary. I don't want them promoting Tomsula, that's just not a long-term answer imo. I'm tired of having offensively uninspiring coaches (Nolan, Singletary, Harbaugh to a lesser extent).

This team needs an Offensive minded coach, and if Baalke/York don't see that, it will be sad.

I agree...I don't expect Holmgren to comeback, but all the narrative that he couldn't be successful is silly.

It's still f**ked up we are having these convos. Harbs should've been a decade guy. It's b******t that the FO and him can't get on the same page.
think lou holtz might want to give the nfl another shot?
Just leave the D alone and I'm all good.
LOL I have an idea. Does anyone have Holmgren's phone number?

I want to call him and say "MIKE, THIS IS GOD. HE WANTS YOU TO COACH THE 49ERS and GROOM YOUR REPLACEMENT"

Wait about 3 years down the road and we'll have a good idea of who was more to blame. If Harbaugh goes somewhere else and we hear rumors about him having trouble dealing with the front office or players checking out.....etc, it'll become pretty evident what the issue was. On the other hand, if he has tremendous success there without any issues seemingly being present and everything is harmonious and happy-doo-dah, then its a sign that this front office was probably too overbearing.

Only after bobby Bowden and Tom osboure get an interview.

yeah but they've never been nfl head coaches. lou holtz's 13 games as HC of jets in 76 might be enough for the job.
