If Jim Harbaugh leaves, who do you want as the next coach of the 49ers(All Coaching Rumors

Just throwing this out there. Perhaps the 'mastermind' of the defense is Donatell, not Fangio. If that's true, which I don't know, but it is a possibility, then maybe bring in any offensive minded head coach, regardless of whether Fangio can be retained, and promote Donatell to DC. The reason I think this is because the strength of the 49er defense is the multiple looks that the secondary can give to the opposing QB. That shouts Donatell just as much, if not more, than Fangio. If Fangio were to bolt because he didn't like the new head coach, then I think the 49ers will be fine as long as Tomsula and Donatell stay on the staff.

If Harbaugh leaves, I think Donatell will be gone in a heartbeat as well as I could see Harbaugh making him the DC wherever he ends up going.

What does that feel like.

Watching the interviews it becomes pretty clear that in terms of gameplan and in-game adjustments, Gase is the complete opposite of Ha/Roman.

Gase / Fangio / Baalke.

So hard to tell! Fangio is a LB guy and they are playing well, even back ups, but the talent is there. DBs are less talented but still productive over the years. Not sure whether Donatel would be more creative with blitzing. But the team does have the luxury of three of the best D coaches in football.

I say we trade Kaep for Cutler and bring in June Jones as our OC!!!

Let Kaep run around in Chicago, and let Cutler do what he does best!!!

and people think i am nuts
I do think in terms of hiring assistants, Holmgren has the most to bring to the table due to all his NFL connections and background. With guys like Gase and Hamilton it is tough to know what they would do. I think if Gase came over, you might have Greg Knapp become the OC possibly, with Hamilton, I have absolutely no clue who he would get for his staff.

Holmgren could fill up a staff with a combination of experienced veteran coaches and some younger ones, so I think that factor is in his favor.

If you're going for June Jones.... Why would you want to get rid of Kaep???? Run and shoot QB's need to be mobile and throw quick seams and deep routs. Most of the offense is one read with designated targets.

FYI, might as well pull Gilbride out of retirement if you like that offense. He runs it better. Has a couple of SB rings to show for it.

Hamilton can potentially bring in current Colts assistants Clyde Christensen (QBs coach), and/or Rob Chudzinski (assistant HC) as his OC.

That's a ton of offensive knowledge right there!

But if you bring Buddy Ryan out of retirement to run the '46' defense and you bring Gilbride out of retirement to run the offense, there's a chance that Buddy might take a swing at Gilbride on live national television again and wouldnt that be entertaining.

Chud's not leaving the Colts to be OC for Kaepernick when he can stay with Indy and be the OC for Luck.

Well it's either Chud or Clyde Christensen, they're both very legit!
