Hellllll to the NO!!!!!

If Roger Craig's #33 isn't retired, then 21 must be active.

Roger Craig didn't finish his career as the 4th all time leading rusher.

21 and 52 are as good as retired.
52???
Prisoner of the moment... ??

Willis retired in his prime starting a damn avalanche... Don't get me wrong, he was great but to retire his jersey? Don't think so.. Play longer and have a signature moment... Frank the Tank, being #4 alltime and still going.. i'd be ok with that but the knock will be no SB victories.

agreed... I wish Willis wouldve stayed... but his heart wasn't in it which always leads to depression of play. Frank is a strong case for his number to be retired here but should at least be signed on for one game as A Niner like J. Rice before he retired. If we don't have a chance to draft Saquon Barkley in the draft then signing Gore again for two years makes since.

Willis didn't retire in his prime, he retired because of a reoccurring toe injury that prohibited his play. He had many signature moments, such as the Captain and leader of one of the best defenses of all time (2012)
Willis is arguably one of the best linebackers of all time

GTFO with that nonsense

I get tired of irrational, butthurt Niner fans who try and diminish what Willis did just because they felt abandoned. Willis had bad feet. He couldn't keep going. People need to get over it.

He was the best MLB of his era, and will go into the HOF for 7 pro bowls and 6 all pros in a 7.5 season career.
Yes this++. Willis will get his number retired then put in a cryo chamber for eternity then carried into the Hall.

After I watch our Jr varsity scrubs botch one tackle after another after another, I put on Pat's YouTube highlights and watch this guy basically write edit and publish the text book on sound tackling technique play after play. Miss that guy.

Linebackers have a short life span. Butkus had what four five prime years? Willis a little longer. Won't affect the balloting. First time in, done deal.

Hes only like 195 yards away from 4th place, where he'll likely finish.

Yeah #3 is a considerable gap.
Dude played with some s**tty QBs where teams stacked the box. Pretty amazing what he's accomplished!

You nailed it!
If Gore can rush for 74 yards next week against the Texans, he'll become just the fifth running back in NFL history to rush for 14,000 yards in his career.

Gore says would like to play one more season in 2018, because he feels good and thinks he can be a model for some young running backs.
