Their offense is miles ahead of ours.

In that scenario we have to beat SD and ARZ and both of the following must happen: Detroit loses out and the loser of DAL vs PHIL must lose out.
A long shot? Oh yeah. Impossible? No.
Would need Dallas AND Sea to lose 2 out of the 3 remaining games + win our 3 remaining
(I've been trying scenarios on this http://www.nfl.com/playoffs/playoff-picture/predictor)
Let me know if you find the "easiest" or most likely scenario lol

I think it has to play out like this:
49ers finish 2-1
Detroit finish 0-3
Dallas or Philly finish 0-3
If that happens we are in.

I could be wrong but I think that is THE ONLY way we get in at 9-7. If we finish 10-6 the options open up quite a bit. The #5 seed in the NFC (possible if we pull off 10-6) will play at the NFC South champ and probably avoid GB or SEA in round #2.

I just don't see Detroit finishing 0-3. Lions are a lock for 1 wildcard position.
What if you assume niners finish 3-0 (just hypothetically)?

If Detroit doesn't go 0-3 then we MUST win at SEA or we are done.
There are a lot more options if we go 3-0. Here are a few:
SF goes 3-0
Doesn't matter what SEA and ARZ do in non-SF games unless DET goes 3-0
DET needs to go 1-2 or 0-3 [DET can go 3-0 but ARZ must go 0-3]
Loser of DAL-PHL needs to finish 1-1 or 0-2

What's the best option if we finish 10-6?

DET finish 1-2
PHI or DAL finish 1-2
That happens and we are in at 10-6

It's possible for DAL to finish 1-2 (playing PHI and Indy)
But does detroit lose 2 of the following to Chi, Minn, or GB?
I feel like Ari has a better chance to lose 3 than Det losing 2.

Actually, if we finish 10-6 we just need the Rams to beat the Cards this week and for the Cowboys or Eagles to finish 1-2 (strong chance), under that scenario we are in no matter what happens in the rest of the games and the winner of the cards vs seahawks game will win the division and the loser is most likely out of the playoffs.

Is it just me or is that very possible?
I'm just banking on the W/L trend to continue this year lol

The Raiders lost to the Rams 52-0.
We lost to the Raiders 24-13.
How in the f**k do you expect us to beat Seattle, San Diego, and Arizona to end the season?!
It's over folks.
