I am not on the HC part with an exception. He is to loyal to this QB more then he was with Alex. To be honest the Alex move now seems more strange to me. Did he do not because we had the best chance to win. We went to the SB..... or did he make the call because this was his guy in the draft room and wanted to make a point that worked out for awhile.

Kap has been exposed. He is a one read QB who has amazing speed but that can be neutralized if you keep him in the pocket trying to make reads. Why..... because he can't and doesn't have the accuracy to hit NFL level throws if he could.

If Harbaugh goes can we now dump Kap. I know the contact was set up to help that scenario. but I am not sure how it effects us. We don't want to put our next coach if what I will call a Gruden state. A coach who might be good but is strangled hold by a QB the organization is backing. In Washington's case it is draft picks in ours it is money. Not just money but cap money which as a fan is the worst because I can care less how much Jed's bank account grows. He will be fine ......

This offseason which is now underway will be key to if the Niners get right back up or fall back into the 2000s........

Dude did you ever watch Kaep in the playoffs!? Outside of Seattle he's 15-5!

Yes I did. Kap and RG3 (the read option) was a new wrinkle to the NFL and we like the Redskins benefited by it. We did longer because we had a Championship level defense to go along with it. The NFL catches up.... So shall we wait until your15-5 record becomes 15-15 to make a change. Winners do it in advance.

This year it is obvious to me the niners wanted to grow kaps pocket ability to go along with his read options skills. What happened is that kap is not progressing in the pocket and defenses are now able to stop the read option.

How can he get better. How many years do we have to wait. With Alex I was of the mindset the talent is not there. Not with this team. He is not throwing to Battle as his number 1 WR. That Boldin throw ended it for me...... Any QB but ours would have completed it. I know one throw, but one that showed the fact he can throw hard but not accurate.... I prefer the latter

Any QB but ours? Didn't Wilson f**k up a wide open TD today??
Good point and I would not sign Wilson to Kaps contract. You have to have cap space to surround them with talent to succeed. Seattle's down fall will come if they pay Wilson 18-25 mill a year. If you had to pick one was it Wilson or the rest of Seattle you would take. Now ask yourself the same question with Green Bay. When you commit to a QB it better be right because they now have to carry the rest of the team. Why because you can't afford a great cast. Green Bay has defensive issues because they paid Rodgers but man for the most part he can mask them.

If they pay Wilson 100 mil. how will they keep a player like Wagner. Already seen this year how there defense is much different without him.

Simply put Kap is not in the elite QB class so why pay him that money. We are not the only ones. Chicago, Cincinnati, hell his brother is going through it. When you strap your self to one QB you better be right.

If you think you have you've found your QB, you have no choice but to pay. Be attention to how Cam robs Carolina this year. He hasn't been great but they have no talent around him and if they try to keep him, they're breaking the bank.

Why if you "think" you have a QB you must pay him. I don't get this. If the QB is why you are winning that is different but what if that is not the case. 53 players out there and you have to gamble on this one position. If you have to think about it grow the rest of your team. How often have I heard if only this QB was surrounded by talent they would succeed. Why not grow and spend you money on that talent and then place a young QB who you don't have to pay 20 mil a year in to showcase the talent.

Sorry but I feel a change is coming to the NFL and it will be over paying QBs is your downfall. Having a great team and supplementing them with a coach and QB who can maximize it will get you a Super Bowl. The hard part will be that when you win your super bowl how can you dump your QB and move on without this message board and the media blowing a gasket.

Simple go out and win another one..........

I get what you're saying but even with marginal talent, a good QB can give you a chance year after year. I know Brady is Brady but look at the talent around him. I don't think the 49ers offensive talent is as good as advertised but it's better than NE, yet Tom makes that machine roll.

The way the NFL is structured, even the second tier QB's will be getting paid, simply because a decent to good QB is hard to find. I mention Cam but watch how much Stafford gets on his second deal. Stafford will most likely retire as the highest paid NFL player ever, simply because Detroit wouldn't dare not pay him.

Can't believe Russell saved that TD return by Reid. He got passed Brooks and trucked Borland. Would've been 14-3 at the half.

It's 4th down!! Lol. You just chuck and duck at that point.

Rolling to his left with a man running him down. If he tries to get it downfield, he get smashed.

Your point?

He has to take what he can, period. If he cocks back to chunk it & the DL hits his arm, same results plus he risks injury.

I still don't see your point. A busted wing will heal by next season anyway.

Right!
Seasons on the line

He was throwing to Lloyd on the side. That's my point.

Are you fukking kifdding me? This is the type of sh!t that really bothers me about fans. Just what did Kaep do to cost us this game? What, you think Kaep is supposed to play a perfect game before you think he's actually helping this teams? Get real Bro!!! But for being warned I cannot allow my feelings to show through in an effort to adequately respond to the abject ignorance of some fans! I am convinced that many of us are watching a completely different game.

This game was a tail of two different half's, with yet MORE injuries to boot (thanx football Gods for having our bakcs ). And for any who watched this game and come away thinking that Kaep was a reason we lost this game is a clear indication that some people really aren't watching football, but simply just watching TV.

I don't think ANYONE (reasonble) expects that. But sometimes Kap just makes bone headed decisions and throws in critical moments. He did it a couple times today at least. No one expects "perfection" but I don't think it's UNREASONABLE to expect our QB to hit a guy who is WIDE open on 3rd down for a critical 1st down.

I do agree though that the play calling was better in the first half. Some nice runs mixed with short and medium passes. That's the s**t we should be doing. Get Kap into a rhythm then hit a deep pass. What's frustrating is that our offense was GOOD before and the reason we went with Kap was because he could REALLY open up the passing game and really make us unstoppable instead of always checking down like the last guy. But now...it's like all we do is run up the middle, throw deep, run up the middle, throw deep. Where are the short passes? Screens? Slants? etc.

So it's a mix of things. Kap not playing up to his potential and the coaches not putting him in a position to succeed.
AND YOU THINK THAT'S THE REASON WE LOST THIS GAME???? Please tell me you honestly don't believe that!!! Please tell me you actually watched this game!!! Please tell me that you have watched the playcalling the whole season!! If so you'll know that the playcalling has been TERRIBLE in the 2nd half ALL FUKKING SEASON from the coaches

"Where are the short passes? Screens? Slants? etc"
Talk to JH and Roman. They are the ones who tried to make Kaep into something he's not. They are the ones that changed the scheme to a scheme that don't fit the personnel. But I guess that's Kaeps fault too, huh.

So yeah, it is a mix of things - a mix in which coaching, playcalling, philosophy, and scheme, are 75% of that mix. For me, there is no equivalence in this. And anyone who tries to draw one is drawing a false one, and IMHO shows that they aren't even thinking critically about this season. False equivalence is a safe attic!!! That's the reason that American politics is so fukked up. Rather than think critically about the issue people would rather rest in the stale but easy "it's every bodies fault" nest. NO!!!! This season was doomed from the beginning of this season because JH and Roman decided to go away from a scheme that work to a scheme that can NEVER work for this personnel. And sometimes it's just that simple!
F*** it--I proud of our team. We have been hammered with injuries all year long and they kept fighting. This last game was never out of hand, and in spite of it all we played hard. F***the Seahawks. We are the only team that they are genuinely afraid of--that's why they have so much to say about us. Next year we wil be much better off than this one--I honestly think we could be playing a home Super Bowl again--love it. I have been through a ton of anger, resentment and frustration this year, but I love this ye. I love Gore and I hope he doesn't leave--he is what is great about this team. Let's get excited about what we know is good here, because this is a great team waiting to happen--the rest of the division is doomed in a years time......

i dont think wilson made the tackle but he was critical slowing Reid down and Brooks didnt turn around for the final block that would have turned the play into a pick 6

Well Tom is an elite QB, I would pay him 20 mil a year. You bring up a good point. NFL teams are scared. If I don't pay him and fail the wrath of god will fall down upon us. It will take the gutsy organization to say we will grow every part of our team and supplement it with cheaper and younger QB talent. That team will be the next dynasty..

It is the same is saying I feel when we get a 4 yard pass to a RB it is just as beneficial as a 4 yard run. The West Coast offence was born but everyone then would have said you have to run the ball 35 plus times to win. I just feel the QB landscape is changing and want to be ahead of the curve. All of this is an opinion which I get you disagree with. So we can agree to disagree.

Also when I say I would pay elite QBs They would need a lot of proving ground. Would not be doing it after their rookie contract. Would compare it to how teams paid way to much to RBs back in the day only to realize if you have a great OL and a great scheme you can have rushing leaders without paying them..

But realistically, Kaep doesn't have to play a perfect game, but he isn't exactly doing anything to win a game. Is he the reason we lost? No, but he helped.

I'm good with disagreeing but just pointing out why they will continue to play QB's big money. Honestly RW shouldn't take less than 20 mil a season. Seattle will have a chance to be that team you just mention. And if RW wins 49, he's taking no less than 25-27 mil.

If anything, the 9ers actually exposed the Seahawks today, by showing teams that it is in fact possible to run on their defense. The Seahawks today beat pretty much a 49ers Preseason team, seriously a third string Center, third string ILB, third string CB (Dontae Johnson), second string Right Tackle, fourth string TE in on a couple snaps, third string RB - he would've been fourth string if Hunter was available, third string NT, second string Left defensive End. I'm actually pretty amazed how close the game was.
