oh and something cc forgot to mention in his spot on post,,, i /he can never , for the life of me/him, figure out whenever we have some sort of a crisis or need, the answer to some is to bring in some x niner. and now for some the answer is to promote some asst coach. why is this? is it the comfortable factor? promoting from within in like standing still,., when you stand still you lose ground. and besides in my opinion the coaches who have done a good job this year have been rathman with the backs and the secondary coach. we may have a fine defensive coach but i am sick of never being able to put pressure on the qb. dump em all, clean house and no offense to the crowd who thinks we will suck for ten years

We need an offensive minded coach, not defensive.

No we don't, we need a HC that can put the right person in place to create a good offense.

When that offense shows any sign of success, there goes your OC. I would feel more comfortable in Jed/Baalke finding a coach that is offensive oriented for the sake of continuity. Finding a new offensive mind every few years is a lot harder a task and couldn't fathom Jed/Baalke being successful at it long term.

When Fangio leaves there goes your #3 defense that played with backups all year and without one of the best pass rushers in the league. Fangio is the single reason we even had a chance of being anywhere this season and if he leaves, we're going to see the same thing on defense that we saw on offense this year.

Fangio is the only hope we have to remaining at the top of the league.
i am not sure whether to laugh or cry at the fact you really believe your last statement

sure he did a good job with what he had , but that does not mean he should be a front runner for the head job,, that is the safe playing not to win mentality.. oh by the way,, tell me , if he is so good, how come he had two all pro linebackers setting around playing checkers in pass coverage in the super bowl allowing the ravens qb to set there and pick us apart.. knowing brooks smith and smith were all hurt in that game,, why not take your two all pros and do something with them. but no we played it safe and ended up sorry for it

I never said i wanted them to hire him as the head coach. Infact, I'm completely against it. What I'm saying is he has proven he can put together a top 5 defense consistently even with a mass of injuries and suspension. Fangio and staff makes the HC vacancy look a whole lot sexier.

the new coach has a right to bring in whoever he/she wants. i would not mind if fangio , rathman and our secondary, linebackers coach stay but at the same time,, i would not slash my wrists if they left. the ol coach and mangini have to hit the road as well,, have to
I think offensive house cleaning is inevitable and goes without saying. With that said, I'm hoping Jed/Baalke will go after a fresh up and coming offensive mind. Someone who is current and creative in the way they utilize the offensive talent. If you want this type of coach to succeed you need to set him up for success. Having a proven top 5 defensive coaching staff is setting the next coach up for success.

if your looking for an old cat that's been out of the league for over a decade or one that is a dinosaur that was ran out recently because he got his qb murdered on the field. Then, yeah, a coach like that would probably want an entire house cleaning.

The fact is too much pride is what is wrong with this situation in the first place. Don't need another PR disaster over a power struggle. What we need is someone who can focus on the job at hand. Building an offense that is efficient and creative. If defense is set it's got to bring comfort to a head coach, especially a first time HC.

Hmm, more bend but don't brake defense, hardly any creative blitzes, and another shaky secondary? No thanks, we can do better.

3rd ranked defense with a bunch of 2nd and 3rd stringers lol

We've had a top 5 defense 4 years running, the last with a slew of back-ups and it sounds like you don't even want him back as the DC?

Our pass rush stinks. That's a legitimate issue. Also, slow to sense when momentum is changing. But overall you can't complain too much.

should i be mad at him or aldon smith for that horses**t excuse of a pass rush vs the chargers?
No way in hell he's a head coach doesn't even have coaches to replace if harbaugh leaves
No thanks to Vic as HC.

IMO, a new HC will probably want his own guys in there when he starts.
