coming from a guy with a craptree handle.... Classic.
Out of interest, how do you value him?

Would you accept this trade:

Our 2nd round pick + Borland for Oaklands first round pic?

I think the problem is that he graded out as the best player on the team last year. You have to play a player who grades out as your best player regardless of who is in front of him.

No, you don't. That makes absolutely no sense at all.

Got to agree with Stoney here.

I like Borland, but that's a no brainer right there... two 1st rd picks for us (WR and DE/NT)

I'm not sure if Raiders are that dumb enough (anymore) to go for that though...

Yes, at the expense of everything else. Borland is a back-up for a reason. He's not athletic enough to cover today's TEs. Simple enough. He cheats on the run and is not fast enough or tall enough to catch-up to an athletic TE or RB if he guesses wrong. Maybe it will be different side by side with Willis or Bowman, but no way he sees the field if they are healthy. We need special teams to step up this year, so hopefully he can make himself useful.

I think utilized in a 4-3 system would suited for his skill set.

You make this move in a heartbeat...that is great value for a guy who is depth for us and only has one year of proof that he is any good. However the people here acting like he is just a special teamer are crazy. He isn't likely to be Willis or Bow level good, but he clearly established he is higher end starter material on most teams in the league last year. You might have to game plan for him a little bit because he isn't going to be an elite coverage guy, but most teams don't ask their LB's to run with TE's and Slot receivers the way we do without safety help. We do it because we have the luxury of some of the most elite linebacking in the game...but nobody else has the kind of talent to do that every down the way we do.

Regardless

I don't know how many guys it will take to change thinking with fans....but measurables are not everything. Borland is a quality talent who could lead a weaker defense or slot right in as a quality starter on an elite unit. If we were to move him, we better get something worth while in return. I would say he is worth a late first round early second round pick in reality...if you could roll him with our second for an early first that is amazing value.

I hope we don't make any moves with Borland , the guy is a keeper
I say trade him if we can get a first rounder for him. I think someone would pat that sort of
Value for sure. Yeah he had a great rookie year but there are still injury issues with him and he is questionable in coverage to say the least.

I'd like to see us use him to get into a position where we could take cooper or white.
Awash in riches at LB...what a wonderful position to be in.

I don't think he's going anywhere. He's cheap for the next two seasons and MB reports that the team is trying to trade Wilhoite
Chris Borland, step on up.
