I know it didn't lead to much but can someone please explain to me how the hell NY "recovered" the surprise onside kick when Bubba clearly had possession of the ball and down by contact. That should be overturned 100% every time. I swear we get royally f**ked by the refs with some dumbass call at least once a game SMH.

Was it worse than the no calls on all those intentional groundings?

Roughing the kicker.

Yep. I was thinking "WTF, Andy Lee didn't even complain." It sure looked obvious to me. Maybe I don't understand the rule. Or was he blocked into the punter?

6 games left with players are quitting on us and/or acting like divas

gonna be one hell of a final 6 games lol

So true. What's up with that? Where's the espirit de corp? I was a big supporter of both Crabtree and Brooks before this week. They are now a cancerous presence in the locker room. I'm beginning to reluctantly agree with some of the posters: Crabtree may actually be Deions inside source re locker room discontent. That needs to be rubbed out.

He never had possession of it

Yes he did, but he did not maintain control throughout the process of recovering the ball.

They explained in the telecast that the rules for recovering an onside kick are similar to the rules for a WR making a catch. Why are the rules like that? I don't know, but they made the right call, as he obviously did not maintain control of the ball throughout the process of making the "catch."

He had it secured, knee on the ground the whole time, how long is he supposed to hold on to it if you're knee is down ?

Pretend he is a WR making a catch. He has to have the ball secured throughout the process of falling onto the ground etc.

He was mugged right after...no one can hold on to it if you let defenders attack the receiver...if the knee is down your are down

If a receiver catches the football, falls to the ground, lands on his knee, lands on his elbow, lands on his chest, and loses the ball, it is not a catch, because he did not have control throughout the entire process of making the catch. It doesn't matter if players are trying to rip the ball out, they are allowed to do that.

When recovering an onside kick, it's similar; you have to possess the ball, fall to your knee, fall to the ground, and then maintain control of the ball, until it has been determined that you have "made the catch." It doesn't matter if players are trying to rip the ball out, they are allowed to do that.

It was never secured
People can say what they want, but you look at this s**t deeper, we ripped every bit of soul and hope out of Giants fans, players, and coaches non-stop in that game with every Eli Manning fail. -That last pick, they showed the Giants coaching sideline, and people were ripping their hats off, stomping on them. I've never seen Coughlin more 'old man angry' than in any other meeting. That guy has a voice like Principle McDicker from Beavis & Butt-Head.

This is a A++ win. These are the f**king ugly ass wins that got us to the f**king Championship three straight years in a row. Our defense takes a f**king dump on people, our offense takes a f**king dump on itself, but has one big Frank Gore run, or Kap 50,000 yard completion on 3rd & 1, and we win this s**t. This team f**king rules, dudes.

So if he wasn't falling to the ground, and was able to just kneel, that would have been the difference?
