B.Lloyd Targets

#2
2Q 2nd & 6
49ers try to go vertical with Lloyd down the right sideline versus Cooper in man coverage.

Lloyd curls his route while Kap throws a Go route.

Miscommunication. INC pass.
Here's another great defensive play - again, would probably look better with a GIF...

This is in the 4th qtr, we've just taken the lead and it's 1st down KC.

We're going to blitz Wilhoite in the "A" gap, kinda works against us here - good thing we have an all-pro MLB.

The slant of our line and the blitz actually play into what KC is doing. Willis does a great job of "reading the triangle" The guard through to the back and follows the lead blocker to the hole.

williams does do a good job of occupying 2 lineman. But, Wilhoite's blitz ends up making him easy to push out of the way.

This leaves Charles 1-1 in the hole with a lot of space to work. This is a win against 95% of the LB's in the NFL.

Willis makes a perfect form tackle and lays some smack on Charles.

He stuffs Charles for no gain.

What's funny is - they get it squared away on the next play, because we go right back to Lloyd on a streak and hit it for 38 yards. It was like we saw what we wanted to do and went right back to it.

This is the very next play from B.Lloyd target #2.

2Q 3rd & 6
49ers again try the Go route with Lloyd versus Cooper.
KC: Cover 1

Lloyd takes an outside release. Kap drops back while holding the FS in the middle of the field by looking straight ahead.

Lloyd just executed a head fake and starts going vertical again. Separation is created with Cooper. Kap is mid windup.

The ball is mid flight and Lloyd has gained more separation.

The head fake occurs at the 31 yard line.

Kap holds the FS by looking straight ahead during his drop back. Pivot then throw.

Got his knee in bounds. +38 yard gain.

Yeah lol. Was this a set up? The first time Lloyd curls his route. The second time he head fakes. On back to back plays is what's so crazy.
Great film break down. Says alot. This last play shows that Kap can have enough patience to go through progressions. Should know by now how to freeze the LB's before tossing out the swing pass. Should not take very long in practice with a coach standing there whipping him in the ass every time he looks over at the same time the snap gets to his hands. Entire defense is reacting before the ball leaves his damn hand. He looks like a freakin highschool qb on that play. The more experience the better.

Was Dee Ford really afraid to hit Gore? Does the all-22 show any method to his madness? The only explanation I can think of is that he thought Gore was going to throw it.

Awesome breakdowns

Regarding the RZ, what about a design like what KC ran for an easy TD...triangle bunch formation on the left (basically, an AR2) and Alex just quickly throws to the back TE while the two in front block out just enough to get into the EZ?

We do do that(haha doodoo...) But, like you've mentioned before, if we did it a lot, it'd be predictable. We do it about every other game or so.

Lol. You two are too much tonight! But we do do it? Hmmmm...will take your word on it but I don't remember ever seeing that design (memory isn't the best though).
Watching our SF Giants with RISP is like watching our Niners in the RZ!

Ian Williams knocked that RG down, which freed up Willis.

4Q 3rd & 10

The catch of the day. Lloyd with a Go route. No head fakes.

KC rushes 5 using a delayed blitz from the safety (purple). Orange LB. Boone has been burned by this type of blitz a few times this season.

Hyde will pick up Orange.

Boone sees the blitz and comes over to pick up the safety (purple). Nice play from Boone keeping his eyes up to see late blitzers. Staley and Iupati get split by one rusher.

Off the back foot.

Gain +29 yards.

Hyde is doing a good job with blitz pickup for a rookie, but one thing Gore does more than most backs is to make sure that blitzer is completely OUT of the play.
