I understand your point but I'm not sure you understood mine.

Each of the 3 Harbaugh teams have been different. They have NOT been the exact same team. They had different challenges and reacted in different ways.

In 2011 they struggled to get 200 yards of total offense early on. In 2012 they were efficient but there were no explosive plays. Last year they wer hampered badly by lack of quality wideouts.

This year its injuries and youth on defense. Kap didn't have much trouble moving the ball in the air last night. He didn't in Dallas either. what KILLED them were penalties and turnovers. I hear peeps say "we should have ruin the ball more". They weren't moving the bal on the ground and the Bears were presenting looks that favored the pass. Then I hear "they got too conservative". Jeez. Pick one (not you..in general). They threw the ball 34 times.

Bottom line for me? Honestly? Bad night. It happens. Nobody likes that answer but it really happens.

i agree with a lot of what you say and playing in the afc east or the nfc north its not a big deal to me. but in this nfc west i just dont think s**t like this will fly in terms of winning the division. now saying this a day after seattle s**t the bed doesnt make my point terribly well. but the fact remains, they're going to win a lot of games and probably all of them at home. we cant afford to s**t away games like these where we're up 17 points. a lot of ppl put the division loss lass year on the drew brees call which may or may not be true. how would we like to be at the end of the year regretting a game like this costing us the division? this is high stakes poker in the nfc west where the margin for error is very small and certainly smaller than any other division in the nfl. without a division win we're not going to the super bowl. you cant rely on winning 3 road playoff games. the extra game, the potential extra injuries, the extra travel, it all counts. i know its early, but these are the games that cost you divisional titles down the line. its not like we played bad and write it off, the game was in the bag.

lol.

I know right!

I needed to read a rational opinion and see how I matched up. I was so frustrated about last night.

edit:
1. Kap - The INT that was ruled incomplete was also a mix of Tillman being Tillman and Kap making a poor decision. His fumble was him trying to get too much also IMO -- he was past the marker and should've gone down.

2. Agree with you, other than the Boldin penalty I have a hard time calling those flags as BS, maybe one or 2 on the defensive holding were off but you can't win with 16 flags....Didn't the 9ers go through a seriously bad spell of penalties last year or the year before? They need to shape it up like they did then.

3. I am looking forward to experiencing the stadium myself later this year but what is your opinion on crowd noise? A lot of people think it wasn't that loud, to me on TV it was loud as hell in the first half then I noticed it fall off quickly. Wondering if that as a combination of the team losing the lead, people being too drunk. Also wondered how Staley got a false start penalty when he did? I had the TV on mute and wondered he just jumped cause of a perceived blitz or was it the crowd booing or cheering in a drunken stupor?

4. Agreed, people harping on Ward after 2 games are just terribly angry. He played above expectations last week IMO and having to play 2 of the best WRs in the league and a superbowl MVP (even if he is a bit washed up) is definitely a baptism by fire.

5. I'm over complaining about Roman, it isn't ALL him -- this is Harbaugh's offensive scheme. I said it in another thread that getting rid of Roman wont change that this is the Bo Schembechler Show where Harbaugh emphasizes bending teams to his will even if it means not continuing to pour on points or to fall completely behind.

6. I'm very happy about his play, can't wait to see what happens with Trey Millard and Carrier. Wonder who will win that battle.

7. Carrdine and Dial getting a combined 5 snaps is just hilariously bad. Ray and Justin should've played closer to 40 of the 60 snaps rather 49 and 46 respectively.

8. We've consistently not taken advantage of situations like yesterday over the past couple years, even if it just bad luck I don't think it will change.

9. The players that get let go won't necessarily make the team better though IMO...
They say they want Ventrone back so several candidates can be picked out be it Lloyd (0 targets in week 1, inactive week 2), Johnson (inactive), Dobbs (ST/D contributor), and Dahl (ST contributor, defensive fodder)....You could seriously stretch it and say Patton gets the axe but IMO he is too young and with Crabtre heading to FA it seems, it would be best to hold on to a player who will have been fully in your system for 2 years to compliment any possible draft picks or FA signings. Not sure how they replicate the pattern this year but as you say, we'll see how the respond.

10. I noticed how the OL just crumbled in the 4th and it was scary, as you say I pray that A. Davis is back next week because I don't see Boone moved out even if it is the best notion. Why? Because I think the team may still be trying to send the message to Boone that he a Guard and shouldn't think he is "too valuable". I hope I'm wrong on that but you never know.

11. Please let the game be a complete game. That is all I want -- I don't want us to come out in the 2nd half flat like we have for 2 weeks already and for much of last season. I want to go back to 2011 and 2012 when the half time adjustments were very noticeable.

Really hard to tell because I'm not on the field.

It SEEMED really loud at times, but I've never been to Seattle or KC to have a frame of reference. It was louder than Candlestick, but I don't think it's the Clink by any stretch.

I'm more convince than ever..

1) KAP is not a scrambler, he's a runner

2) KAP can not read the entire field.. on the last drive, instead of dumping the ball on Gore outside the right flat (wide open) for a minimal gain of 12 yards, he instead, went on a long corner route (and yet againnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn), to Stevie Johnson

3) KAP is madly inlove of the idea of throwing a winning TD to Crabb.... WTF????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.... on the last play, he had Boldin running away from the defender inside the 5 yard line!!

4) KAP issssssssssss the re-encartenation of Randall "the long winder" Cunningham..

5) OC - for the 3rd year in a row, we continue to threated opposing defenses w/the Pistol Formation where we send our FB on a wide motion... is this suppose to threaten the defense??

6) DC - why can't we teach our CBs that it's ok to look for the ball when the WR is running a corner (fade) route in the endzone?? Marshall's last TD woulda been an easy INT had Ward looked for the ball instead of playing the WR?? Marshall is already at the corner of the endzone, I mean, wherelse would he go??? look for the ball you moran!!! you're a 1st rounder!!!!

7) HARBAUGH - when are you gonna start telling KAP that he's not Peyton nor Brady nor Drew!!?? to stop wasting time yelling out KILL KILL KILLL, and pretending that he can actually read defenses.. he needs to learn how to NOT waste time and learn to save our time out??

i really enjoy how everything goes to the same tired story with you people.
if he has a bad night he can no longer read defenses. and when he does there are no words when he has a bad night it's back to he can't read defenses. lol

1) Huh? He doesn't have great lateral movement, but few better escaping when he has a lane.

2) You read deep to short. Johnson was wide open. Correct read. He simply missed. You don't see every player on the field at the same time. You go through a progression. If the first read is there, you make the throw. You don't check all the other guys first.

3) Again...Crab the 1st read AND HE WAS OPEN. Boldin had a guy right on his hip and was a more difficult over the shoulder throw. The ball hit Crab in the hands. What do you expect of Kap? If Crab doesn't hesitate...its an easier catch as well.

4) Kap has a long windup. Always has had one. Its sped up since college, but that's who he is. Get used to it.

7) Yeah....don't let him read defenses. He's dummy. Will never improve. Why bother coaching. Sigh.
My biggest issue is, whenever Kap panics he locks in on Crabtree!

The entire stadium knew where he was going with that last pass! Same in the Super Bowl and same in the NFC Championship Game!!!!!

The game was won, all he needed to do was hold on to the ball. This is a very frustrating loss...
Thanks Marvin, things get clearer the next day. The reality is this team will get as the season moves along. Shifting Boone to tackle will double his value on the open market.
I'm inclined to believe that Kap was just "off" last night -- sort of like when a starting pitcher in baseball just doesn't have his stuff/command for whatever reason.

His touchdown pass to Crabtree was horrible. Crab was wide open, but Crab had to leap in the air and fall backwards to catch it. He overthrew him.
One of his early completions to Boldin was horrible. Again, Boldin was wide open, and Boldin had to jump in the air to catch it.
One of his early passes to Vance McDonald was horrible. McDonald should've caught it, but Kaepernick's placement was awful (he had to reach back behind him to make the catch, instead being able to catch it in stride and pick up YAC).
...etc...
Also, how many times will Martin get beat before our coaches realize he isn't the answer?

We could have made a simple adjustment: Looney to RG and Boone to RT. We made no adjustments when the wheels started to fall off!
Iupati and Staley have to do better also. Martin needs to benched. It was just an overall failure on all sides of the ball and on the coaching staff. The penalties were crazy but as you stated they were mostly legit and it was lazy sloppy play on the Niners behalf. And Kaep just has to do better. I mean that Conte interception he locked on to Boldin the whole way. Just look the guy off and that's a big play. Roman and JH stop all the read option and get back to the creative trap and pulling power running plays

Yeah...but HE WAS OPEN.

Not just worried about Seattle...but the other way to look at this is if Niners beat Cards they are back tied for first place.

Niners control their destiny.
