I just don't understand how the 2012 Kaepernick could have been so damn good and the present day one could have so many issues?
Were teams really playing us that differently back then? Or was a backup taking over the starter position one that negated real world pressure?
That Chicago defense was better than the current one by a good amount. Remember, it was a battle of who the better defense was going into that game....

Which is why he actually did a pretty damn good job blocking tonight??
Agree. He's an asset as a blocker with his size and movement skills. Have to work on those hands though. The drop he had was weak.
he looked great in preseason, the drop he had wasnt a good pass imo
The pass was a little behind him, but still should have been caught. He's prone to lapses in concentration at times.

O-line was playing at a much higher level in 2012, and we had better team speed with Moss and Walker.

When te switch happened they were orced to play against a polar opposite. Alex is safe, Kap is a wild card. Alex would audible to run, Kap will look to pass. Alex never looked deep, Kap never looks short. Alex loved passing to RB's, when has Kap ever? Blending both of them would give you another version of Young.

The worst part about this loss is since I missed a good 3 full quarters, I have no real handle on how bad the Niners looked.
I will look at it half glass full, equate this to the damn Colts game of last year and we go strong moving forward....
Guys, let's look at reality for a second:
Kaepernick might NOT become THE guy for us, like what Joe and Steve eventually became where you can have 1000% faith in them executing everything at a high level.
But if the rest of the team plays at a high enough level, we can go all the way.
Whenever the team plays very well as a unit, CK tends to play very well as well. He cannot be counted on having Joe Montana vs. Philadelphia Eagles 1989 clutchness just yet.
Gotta win this division.

Problem is with the D hurt/suspended we need the O to win games to get us into the playoffs. With everything we brought in and the money we spent...he needs to look the part now. If this is a guy that needs the D to do everything, he wasn't worth the contract.

They'll be covered.
Trust that the coaching staff and team always bounces back after a bad loss.
And while the score wasn't bad, allowing 21 unanswered and losing makes it a bad loss, worse than what Seattle suffered today.
BTW, Arizona might get a little overconfident here thinking they smell blood in the water.

We had great seats (45 yard line a few rows behind Niners bench). Kap wasn't seeing open wrs and when he did see them it was too late. It was like the game was too fast for him. He was staring down receivers and his throwing motion was taking way too long. He made it easy for the bears defense.
The redzone play calling and Kaps performance in the redzone was dog s**t.
This.
