hmmm...i wasn't going to say that, but yeah, it is fairly possible the Bears may score 40 on Sunday night

You fools are nuts, it's going to be at least 50.

Ok...no one matches up when it comes to one on one match ups.

You first have to cover pro-bowlers, B. Marshall and Alshon Jeffery. We have another pro-bowler in Forte who provides alot of catching yards from the backfield. We also have a huge tight end in Bennett who would be in the probowl if he was on another team who provided him with more targets. Even our third Wide Receiver, Santonio Holemes will cause problems. The O-line is solid, and Cutler has improved in many areas of his game. It is a mis-match for every team. The only way our offense struggles is if there is communication breakdown, or an unfortunate fumble. We own the matchups.

Cutler's awful mechanics and throwing off his back foot will lead to costly turn-overs. Already an uphill battle when you lose the TO differential.

Ehh I wouldn't go that far. The Niners have the big advantages in the trenches and Willis covering Bennett. Also our safeties are pretty damn nasty which is why the bears are gonna have to dink and dunk to have any success.
guys, I apologize for vabearfan15. we aren't all crazy homers like him. fact is we all know that we are going to lose this game, but I don't think it will be as much of a blowout as you all think. if Jeffery and Marshall are healthy enough to play they will give your depleted secondary a tough time. If cutler doesn't throw any int's and forte can establish the run it will be a good game.

so you are saying the only way the bears can be beat this year is if they beat themselves? that is typical talk from a team who is scared and trying to make excuses in advance. by the way how come you did nothing to fix your defense this year?

i would be worried if you guys had a quarterback like bobby douglas who we would have to chase all over the place ( i like to go old school with visiting posters!)

Thanks, but he is entitled to be a homer. As long as he stays chill.

Should be a good game.

9ers don't need to cover all of those receivers, all they have to do is cover Jay Cutler. When you pressure Cutler, he's like a girl scout throwing a football.

In all seriousness though, if you wanna talk about match-ups, I think the 9ers defense is more capable of covering the Bears offense than their defense trying to cover the 49ers offense, if you really look at it.

Bears have:

Brandon Marshall
Alshon Jeffery
Santonio Holmes
Joshua Morgan
Martellus Bennett

OK, now lets check the 9ers:

Anquan Boldin
Michael Crabtree
Stevie Johnson
Brandon Llyod
Vernon Davis

49ers O-line>>>>>Bears O-line

OK, so the Bears have Matt Forte, so I see your Matt Forte and raise you a Frank Gore and introducing Carlos Hyde.....ask Dallas' defense they know who he is.
Wildly arrogant Bears fans not withstanding. I am still a little worried about this game. The Bears are talented team who embrassed themselves last week losing at home to the Bills. That motivation will be everybit as strong as our will to win the first one in the new house.

Things I like for us.. 1).Chicago is bad against the run...Gore, Hyde and Kap will have lots of chances to make plays with their legs. 2) Cutler is good for a few bad balls a game and if you get to him has a tendancy to just say "f" it I am going deep! making the problem even worse, 3) although we are thin at corner the drop off from one guy to the next doesnt seem all that big and 4) our skill positions may be too deep for them to counter with enough quality corners should we decide to spread it out in a shoot out scenario.

Things I dont like 1) Bears skill positions are truely elite, even though our corners are deep they arent probowl level and our LB's are thinned making Forte even more dangerous. 2) Cutler is a gun slinger, when it goes well for him he puts up huge numbers ( will we get good Jay or Bad Jay?) 3) Our O line is struggling. Who is going to play? who is going to Play well? will we have to adjust our plans for guys like Big Mike who are struggling badly early on?

I think we win this....prime time, home opener....in the new building. This game was circled since preseason. Our coaches will be prepared and the team will be loaded for bear ....no pun intended. I am not sure a new coach with a team running a new system is going to be able to keep up for the whole game....Still expect to be pressed hard early, and not really break it open until late third/ early 4th.
I'm never overly confident about any NFL game. And, I don't blame any Bears fan for being confident. Look at that #1 and #2 receiver combo - scary. One saving grace for the Niners in that area seems to be Jefferies nursing a hamstring problem, so that receiving duo might not be at full strength. I think Cutler threw four interceptions the last time he played the Niners - you just can't count on him to be that ridiculous every time out; if Cutler gets a hot hand, that's a problem. And Forte averaged 4.8 yards a run against the Bills, so the Niners run defense is going to have to come together a little better. All in all, I don't think you can sleep on this Bears offense.

The Niners offense, on the other hand, is going to be hard for the Bears to contain. I'm pretty sure the Niners can run on them and I just don't see secondaries able to center on doubling up on any particular Niner anymore. Kaepernick looks to me like he's reached a new plateau in playing from the pocket and going through reads, so I see the Niners scoring on the Bears.

I expect the Niners to win this Sunday night, but it's not like I'm sure of anything.

it probably wont be a blow out,
I feel like the Bears are basically Cowboys 2.0

Solid receivers
Solid RB
Suspect D
Turnover prone QB
