You know I used to think like that, but then I said this is the nfl. U can't help what may happen. I just feel we need more work than one series. And we haven't even scored a td yet in our new stadium. Preseason or not. U don't get blown out at ur new home, come back next week, not score again, but say ok we"re ready. We aren't and other teams with more experienced offenses are playing at least the first half. We should be no different.Originally posted by niners94:Originally posted by Jersey9er:Win or Lose in this preseason game is semantics. Gore would be the only one I'd maybe take out after the first quarter. Everyone else. Get that lengthy game time experience.
I hope they play 1 serie. All the injuries yesterday scare me.

There looking good cause there lesbian looking coach treats pre season like the regular season there extremely lucky no one has gotten injured.
Well injuries happen regardless of how you play the game. At least the Seahawks are going to enter the season with supreme confidence. Man if we get shut out again...

I don't think it matters if we score more than the 3 we got against Baltimore. Injuries are more important than these preseason games.

Well we have to agree to disagree. I actually think, building some continuity is more important. Injuries are gonna occur, whether playing ball, or in some cases freak injuries.
To me that's like saying don't take your kids to the park becuz they may get hurt. It may happen, but u don't keep them home becuz of a possible injury.
We haven't looked good so far as a total offense. Certain players have, but not as a whole, just like Roman said. So I say play entire first half, then sit for the second...

I would rather be a little rusty against Dallas than lose someone, but I understand your view.

I have to agree with this. Ideally, I'd like to see the starters, particular on offense, play a quarter or two today. Use the reps to get on the same page, build continuity and more chemistry so they'll be ready by the Dallas debut. Taking off my homer glasses, not scoring a a single TD in two games isn't good guys, even if it's preseason. It's been established Gabbert sucks ass, he can continue to stink it up the second half for all I care as long as the starters get some meaningful reps and are able to get on the same page today.

Don't forget the 2 worker deaths and the one fan who suffered a fatal heart attack. Yes, it's just too much.

Cam Inman @CamInman
One #49ers player gave new sod a thumbs down when I asked how it is in warmups, adds it is better than Wednesday turf & "it's getting there"

U can help what may happen...by keeping the starters from playing in a meaningless game.
These aren't young guys, scrubs or new teammates; this is an experienced team that has gone deep in the playoffs for three years in a row. We are simply different than other teams: we're not trying to implement a new system, train a new QB, bring in half a dozen new players etc.
We do however have a bunch of young backups that need to be integrated into the team, especially on defense. The main goal of the preseason is to get the young guys ready and figure out which ones can play because this year we are going to need them.
Our veterans know how to play and know the system, they have 16-20 real games left to play. Throw the young guys in the fire and see who can play.
If our young guys can't get pumped up after getting blown out at home, that will weigh on their evaluation. But it is meaningless to the starters.
