Don't we play Denver this season? Wouldn't it be great if they expected off coverage from us all day in the regular season. Wouldn't it be great if they expected us to stay in I backs 70% of the time?

We called garbage, bland plays, sitting a third of our starters, while they went into this game like they had something to prove.

Ding ding ding. I remember back in 2011 when the 49ers got the s**t kicked out of by New Orleans in the preseason and the Saints kept blitzing and bringing the house on pretty much every play. How did the next game between the two teams turn out for them?

Just to add on, (Said in another thread but figured I would reiterate)... out here in Denver, the team, front office, media, fans, basically EVERYBODY in Denver circled TWO PRESEASON GAMES on how they were gonna show the national audience they werent a bunch of complete poons the Seahawks made them out to be. You saw it in the first couple drives with Manning and his 1 yard rush, he was displaying the attitude they have been pumping all offseason.

The fans who are so discouraged by today need only to look up any of the articles about the Broncos offseason, its been filled with camp fights trying to be tough and nothing but quotes of how they are "eager to prove themselves to the NFC west." Does anyone really think PFM needs the typical gameplan to be effective in his own orchestrated offense? He IS the game plan. Our patchwork defense did pretty well forcing them to make a couple good/lucky plays on 3rd down. Think Manning would of been that comfy to stay in the almost the whole first half and try a run if J. Smith and Ray Mac and Willis are in the middle of the field?

Ive watched him in Jax the last 3 years. It doesn't get better. He's always been known to be a great practice player (hence the TC reports) but he blows in games.

Yup. Practice/TC warrior, wets the bed when the lights come on in front of a crowd and the slightest pressure is applied. My Jags friends would've been shocked if they got a cheeseburger for the guy, let alone a pick. Hated the trade when it happened and I'm not surprised in the least by his performance. Harbaugh is a good coach but he's not a miracle worker. I think Gabbert is an even bigger project than Harbaugh anticipated. Gabbert has ways to go to become even a serviceable NFL caliber back up. Sheesh. If he doesn't get it together quick I think his NFL career is close to done.
Everyone wants to behave blindly cuz it's the safe thing to do..but the truth is we are failing to score and our d isn't as deep as we thought... No problem with saying the truth.

First team O won't be anywhere near as bad as the second team - trotting out Gabbert for huge chunks of the game and Gab is an auto 3 n out plus our RBs behind Hyde have been mediocre. Come regular season I won't be concerned about scoring but I will say that maybe our defensive depth may be a little overrated.

I thought Quentin Dial looked great. Double teamed often and still made some plays.

You guy remember when the Lions went 4-0 in preseason? I remember they were so historically good at getting the first pick in the draft. That 0-16 season was amazing. In all honesty I hope Gabbert never has to play. Kyle Orton still retired?
One issue I have with the Niners is that they don't play at the same speed/tempo of many other NFL teams, and when we go up against a team that plays at a fast, high octane type level with trying to score points as fast as possible (like GB, Philadelphia, Denver, NO, etc.), and coupled with the fact that we have redzone problems with getting six points, then its going to be super tough if our defense isn't slowing teams down.

That added pressure is going to fall on Kaepernick to move the ball down field at a faster rate, and hopefully a better rate.

All this has been factual the last few years and im looking to see this change with the offense this year

How has that tempo worked out for them over the past couple of years against the 49ers?

lol, funny and true... the boos from camp on friday still linger in his head (his confidence is s**t)
These preseason games show what our team would be like if Singletary still coached them. This is what happens when you have a coach that doesn't gameplan.

Yeah. Send several voracious, snarling 280 pound manbeasts after him, and he's just fine.
But once Dave and Jennifer are sitting in Section 211 eating a vegan barbecue medley, he just absolutely loses it.
