this has been the case for years. most niner fans don't know the difference. changing location/new stadium won't change that, therefore levi's will never be as loud as we all hoped it would
Most 49ers fans I know are usually more interested in talking business or something related to money while the game is in the background. When the ones who are really watching and analyzing the game begin to cheer those other fans stop their conversations and blindly cheer catching the end of the play or the replay and get their high fives in.
I don't watch games with them anymore but being from the bay area, I notice most of the Bay Areans I end up finding myself around are usually talking business/money and claim themselves as 49ers fans.
Of course, this isn't everyone...just the majority of the group I have been around. It's not an escape for them as they are always thinking business. The ones it is an escape for are the ones I like watching the game.
