Crazy how much better the roster is today.

It's possible none of the receivers from the 2006 team would even be on the 2014 roster.

I always thought when Arnaz Battle was off the roster it would be a sign of when we became good again. He always seemed like the definition of mediocrity. To be fair, I think he would have been a serviceable 3rd or 4th receiver, but definitely not a #1 or #2 as he was during his entire tenure with the 49ers.

Arnaz Battle on an NFL team is like me on your pick up basketball team. If he's the worst guy you've got, then you're probably going to do pretty well. If you're trying to count on him to be one of your best players, you're probably going to lose.
Arnaz was scrappy and a hard worker. He just wasnt that naturally gifted and had a horrible oline/QB situation.
IMO this is the best set of offensive personnel we've had since 1998.
lol antonio bryant
Moran Norris did help plow the way for Gore though.

What are you loling about? That Antonio Bryant on this year's team would have been a killer. He is more gifted athletically than anyone on the roster....Heck he was probably our only 1000 receiver in the Erickson, Nolan, Singletary era.

This is true. Ive always wondered how the early part of Alex's career would have played out had norv turner not left for SD. That deep connection they had in 2006 was pretty special.
