Credit also has to go with Fangio and the coaching staff for putting him in positions to succeed. Considering his rough first outing getting turned around and taken advantage of by Peyton Manning to what we are now seeing, in such a short time period, is fantastic coaching and fantastic player adjustment to the speed of the game. Zach Thomas lite? Hope so...

It's impossible not to root for the guy because of the question marks around his physical abilities coming into the league. The kid knows football and you can't teach that kind of on the fly awareness.

Dude has a higher ceiling than Thomas.

This. If he keeps racking up tackles and turnovers, I don't see how you cannot make him DROY.

Borland has 50 solo tackles, a sack, 2 INT's in 4 starts.

Barr has 50 solo tackles and 4 sacks in 10 starts.

Mosley has 58 solo tackles, 2 INT's in 10 starts

Mack has 44 solo tackles, 1 sack in 10 starts.

WTF!

lol wow, I didn't even think he was that close to the rookie tackles leader.
Edit-Officially he has 47 solo tackles, not 50. So 47 solo tackles, 63 combined tackles in 4 starts.

Just for comparisons sake, Luke Kuechly has 70 solo tackles in 11 games and 116 combined tackles.

Well! I didn't think he was that good anyway! Keeps declining in tackles from one game to the next! By the middle of next year he'll be down to zero!
Updated #'s with both combined and solo tackles.

Borland-63 combined tackles, 47 solo tackles, 2 INT's, 1 sack. 4 starts. Average=14 tackles per game, 11 solo(adjusted for appearances in KC and first StL game)

Anthony Barr-62 combined tackles, 50 solo tackles, 4 sacks. 10 starts. Average=6 tackles per game, 5 solo, 0.4 sacks.

Khalil Mack-56 combined tackles, 44 solo tackles, 1 sack. 10 starts. Average=6 tackles per game, 4 solo.

C.J. Mosely-90 combined tackles, 58 solo tackles, 2 INT's. 10 starts. Average=9 tackles per game, 6 solo.

I would say Mosely is the front runner but Borland has a shot at catching up if he continues to play at this level.

Yes, but he's playing on a bad D...oh...wait...
I'm sure this was brought up many a time but did you guys notice how eerily similar the goal line stand yesterday was to the Atlanta goal line stand last season?

The direction of the throw, the deflection in the air, the interception by a 49ers linebacker. The only thing missing was the 95 yd return for a td :P

Borland channelling his inner Bowman! And the announcers were correct in their assessment that the first interception by Borland was Patrick Willis'esque
