Any chance he's being groomed to succeed Ahmad Brooks?

Bowman might eventually take over for Brooks

"49ers have the best O line in NFL" --> what happens? The O line plays mediocre, resting on their laurels.
Answer: Baalke gets rid of the center and drafts two new OL high to keep pushing them

"49ers have the best ILB's in NFL" --> what happens? Willis play drops off as he seems to be resting on his laurels.
Answer: Baalke drafts Borland and gets Skov to keep pushing them

Baalkes really good GM, he knows that 'reputation' doesn't always match with reality. Keep pushing Willis and Bowman etc by drafting talent and hard-working intense guys like Borland

worst pick. wilhoitte is going to play for bowman. pretty much we wasted a 3rd on a guy to compete for a half season open position and ST player.

lmfao!! good thing you have an eye for talent. He will not be wasted

This is the pick that surprised me though I have to say with a little more research I stand 100 percent behind this selection.

His Highlight Video.

And to ease everyones concern about his athleticism.

Navorro Bowman Height 6004 Weight 242
40 Yrd Dash 4.70
10 Yrd Dash 1.60
Bench 26
Vertical 29 1/2 Pro day 35 1/2
Broad 0907" Pro day 0909"
20 Yrd Shuttle 4.59 Pro day 4.20
3-Cone Drill 6.91 Pro day 6.70

Chris Borland Height 5114 Weight 248
40 Yrd Dash 4.78
10 Yrd Dash 1.65
Bench 27
Vertical 31 Pro day 35
Broad 0906" Pro day 0908"
20 Yrd Shuttle 4.27 Pro day 4.26
3-Cone Drill 7.18 Pro day 6.83

With his rare instincts, 49ers strength and conditioning programm and the chance to learn behind Willis and Bowman, Borland will be just fine.

This guy will be special.

I watch the tape and I don't care about speed, he's incredibly quick, agile and strong and he doesn't over pursue and get beat that way.

I really liked this pick. Gotta love that he will be learning from Patrick and Navarro.

Wut?

He drafted this kid because Bowman is seriously injured. And Skov will be lucky to make the 53.

Wow I hadn't watched his highlight vids til today. This dude looks like a baller. Explosive as hell, takes great angles and he looks like a tackling machine.
Warming to this guy fast after watching more video. He seems like a bonafide stud. Love guys that play like they don't care about their body. Might be a beast killer

This play is pretty impressive, goes right over the blocker and makes the tackle midair, throwing down the runner like its nothing.
