that would help in regards to me no longer posting on this and getting all repissed off when i think how i think he used us and,,,, never mind, yes move it please

Well the Gore thread was moved and he was a real niner. For those defending Borland I am fine with his choice but he knew before he started playing in the NFl that he was going to have a short career and that should have been known to teams during the interview process. Oh you do not retire after one year you quit and that real life. Lock this thing up or move it like the Gore thread doesn't deserve the space in NT.

For those not aware of the book League of Denial and why it is connected to Borland: Mark Fainaru-Wada achieved fame, and high credibility, as the result of his research and subsequent book that took down the Balco steroid scandal along with Barry Bonds. For ESPN to hire this guy to interview Borland shows that ESPN expects high ratings and high ad rates.

Fainaru-Wada now has two very high profile David v Goliath books that took down a giant. From a publicity standpoint, putting him up as interviewer with Borland guaranteed max exposure regardless of who the player might have been.

Just saying...

Wow, "self-centered" -- that's a great description. If Borland is self-centered, then what does that make the posters that are so outraged by his retirement? There are people on here that are attacking the character of a person because he decided to retire (or "quit", or whatever loaded language you want to use) and it happened to hurt their beloved football franchise. If getting upset about that isn't self-centered, then I really don't know what is.

Again, let's put this in perspective: we're comparing Chris Borland's decision to value his health over money/fame to a football franchise. A human being versus a game.

I dont see how he is going around telling a sob story. He didnt retire because of an injury, he did it because he is SCARED. FLAT OUT SCARED.

This needs to be moved to the Parking Lot. He doesn't deserve to be in the NFL Talk thread.

And people are paying him to talk about it.
Well, discussion continues. The thread has no place in NFL Talk for obvious reasons. Is someone wants to discuss the issues raised on a more general basis I guess a separate thread should be started there.

As there seems to be a wish that something should be done with this thread, there doesn't seem to be many options. So...
