At this point, I would expect the 49ers FO to be discussing what they might do to fill the backup QB void, especially if a third poor performance happens. One more stinker like the previous two games, keeping Gabbert as the #2 would look (and rightfully so) downright asinine.
There are options at least. Plenty should be available on the waiver wire, including whoever Seattle doesn't keep (they're not keeping 4 QBs). Also, we could exchange one of our depth players who wasn't going to make the final cut for a QB on another roster too. If we went that route, I could see some of the following players as trade bait: Perrish Cox, Nick Moody, Dan Skuta, Joe Looney, Adam Snyder, and perhaps Dobbs.
Any back-ups from Seattle is better than what we've got. B.J. Daniels anyone ? LOL.

A trade is definitely possible, maybe even likely. Last pre-season we pulled off two trades with Haralson and Cam Johnson. Maybe this year we can get a QB in return instead of a draft pick.

I'll take him. Better than Gabbert and Sanchez IMO. I like his mobility, and he throws a decent checkdown lol.

Bring back McCoy
Any excuse he had about learning a new system left after yesterday. He just flat missed open receivers. Balls thrown behing them, over their heads, etc. Gabbert just isnt good. The scary thing is Johnson looked like hot garbage also. So unless their is a scenario where we get someone else (which I doubt), I have no idea what they are going to do. The only thing I do know is we owe Gabbert $2M for having nice hair.

We're stuck with Gabbert this year. Going to have to just ride it out with him as the backup and hope nothing happens to Kap. Next year we'll trade or draft for a young cheap alternative.

I still believe that Gabbert will put it together and become a solid backup for us, he just needs more time.
