SO PAINFUL! Had our chances and just didn't make it happen in a few key spots. Can't turn it over 3 times in the 4th and expect to win.

The thing I am starting to worry about is how resilient can we continue to be? 3 straight years of absolute GUT WRENCHING losses. Yes, this team is young, yes this team is talented, but mentally, can we continue to grind after what I think was the crushing of all the defeats from the last 3 seasons.....mainly b/c we didn't only lose, we lost Bowman, Iupati, Gore broke his hand ect ect....oh and we lost to our bitter rivals.

I think this comes down to coaching. I'm a little skeptical about the staff's ability to get the most out of its players, but I have no doubt about its ability to motivate. Those guys bleed red and gold, and there's not a bad apple in the bunch from what I can tell.

Be real people. If Manning is going to work over their defensive backfield, he would have had a field day with ours.

most likely.

Coaching is key for sure, and Harbaugh does seem to have them focused really all the time. I just hope this loss adds fuel to the fire and didn't totally deflate the teams psyche....b/c seattle isn't going anywhere, AZ is nipping at our tails and St. Louis has yet another top draft pick. Can't waist anymore of these opportunities.

I don't know if its the mods doing, but i'm glad the SEA fans aren't around. Whenever i see them here trying to justify their team's b******t i get pissed off again.

That's the problem. Our offense depends on him heavily. If he can't pass with 9 in the box, there's no reason for a defense to back off. CK's development is the biggest key to our team's sustained success going forward. If he corrects his current flaws, then the team will obviously be less hampered when we face obstacles in games such as total incapability of running the ball. A more creative passing game can emerge when a signal-caller displays the capability to execute the more complex sets of plays.

Continuing to establish a ferocious OL is a nice next step as well.

your argument would have more merit if you pointed out aldon smith jumped offsides and just completely stopped his pass rush

everyone completely stopped their pass rush on that d-line. also, they (plenty of people smarter than me and on sports radio) said that whitner was out of position and should have been there to help on that play. BUT, they all say it was a PERFECT pass. meh...if you wanna be mad about a play, be mad that they gave 15 yards on 3rd and 22 to miller. play each down the the fullest OR ELSE!
Exactly. Seattle would have punted if they played with intensity on that play. It's like the defense just gave up after the intentional grounding call. It's like they thought they won the battle but they didn't finish.

Can't argue with truth.

The 4th and 7 TD was so close to being a tip play with a chance at an int. Reid was trailing and might have picked it. So close.

I dunno, watching 49ers football all these years, this game was like a creepy flashback to the '83 Championship game where the refs jobbed us, and the Skins limped into a Superbowl slaughter.

Personally i think thats whats going to happen here, other then Seattle isnt exactly limping, but I dont think they really understand what Manning and that offense can do to them. Sherman is used to covering receivers smaller then. I dont think hes going to look like the greatest db against a receiver his size, faster, and more physical then him.

Do you think our defense, if we made it past Seattle with a healthy Bowman, could have stopped Manning? I think we could have slowed him down enough and we could have won. Now I think Seattle with their speed on the Dline and LOB is equal to, if not better, than our D. (My friend said before the game he heard Eric Davis say Seattle has the better D). As much as I hate Seattle, their D can contain Manning. It's up to their Russel and Lynch to help them.
Sherman, no matter how much we may hate him, is way better than Brock or Brown, and it's not even close.
Manning reads defenses better. However, I feel the Niners would have a better shot in the Super Bowl than the cawks because no homefield advantage.

Our defense with a healthy Bowman would have the advantage against manning because we have been able to make teams more one dimenaional then seattle has, how they continued to stop our run game is on the oline and when they did open a giant lane gore and kap werent on the same page. Both thomases will be extremely hard for seattles secondary to deal with and then they have welker going over the middle which will open up there defense even more because seattles lbs are not even close to ours.

Then it would have been 4th and 2 Seattle.

Haha true true. I wonder if they would have taken the field goal instead of going for 4th and 2 in that situation...
