this is a valid point and has been an issue throughout the Harbaugh era (eveything was an issue under Singletary).
We seem to go Singletary-lite in the red zone, stubbornly running into stacked boxes. Kap is also avoiding keeping on the read option, something i think is intentional (and will change, soon). However, Kap needs to audible out of these run plays. Alex was so good at this and Kap is still learning I guess? Who knows, maybe he isn't allowed to on certain plays?

I agree with you that our red zone offense leaves a lot to be desired at times. Not a formula success against better opponents.

RW's voice & speech pattern sounds almost exactly like Pete. It's annoying as hell. His personality is much more engaging and enjoyable than Kap which is also annoying as hell.

We definitely need to put a lick on the midget when they run that read option. He burned the Saints defense a couple of times with the read option. Aldon and Brooks needs to stay with their assignments and put a big ass hit on RW on that play even if he doesn't have the ball. That will rattle him and make them think twice about running the read option again. On week two, Brooks laid him the fucc out on one read option play and they never ran it again.

id rather they just keep contain against russell wilson. if they start chasing him and get shook he can get chunks of yards most of the time. dudes really shifty and is very accurate. take away running lanes and stuff the run, let the ILBs roam

Seems to be a common thought around here so here are the facts about the impact of that hit and it's impact on the read option's use copied from another thread.
Q1:
(8:36) R/O left - Lynch up middle (brooks doesn't hit wilson or lynch, stands in the back field and watches Lynch rip one for 21 yds)
Q2:
(15:00) R/O right - Lynch off right tackle for 5 yds.
(7:29) R/O right - Lynch off right tackle for 14 yds (this is the hit)
(1:49) Shotgun Wilson scrambles right (right by Brooks) for 11 yds and a 1st down
(1:35) R/O right - Turbin off right guard for 3 yds
(1:01) R/O right - Turbin up middle for 4 yds
Q3:
(14:17) R/O right - Lynch left tackle for 8 yds (wilson fakes the run to the right)
(11:30) R/O right - Turbin off left tackle for 13 yds
I stopped watching after the 2nd instance in the 3rd quarter because well... as you can see, it was still run.
* I only recorded R/O in which Wilson went to the right after the hit (because apparently the argument was that they didn't do it again - to the right).

I do not predict games. I am not good at that.
The game should be interesting and I think we have a good chance to win the game.
But, win or lose, the importance of this game should not be exaggerated.
If we make the play offs this game will most likely have no or little impact.

yeah but on how many of those did RW receive a hit like the one Brooks laid him on on the second play? Obviously we did nothing defensively to dictate in the last game, and I think that's the point some are trying to make: if we consistently get RW on the ground--while also covering up the RB on R/O plays--it will help to dictate what the SEA offense does.
I think its a valid point, as is the fact that in our last two meetings we weren't able to get to RW or to dictate anything on D. If we are going to beat Seattle we have to be able to do so.

Good info. The key isn't really hitting Wilson on these read-option runs. Sure, they would rather RW not get hit, but when it's that productive you run it. RW is a tough guy, he can take it.
The issue is what defensive package we decide to go with. Last game the Seahawks ran out of 3 and 4 WR sets and it was very effective. We put our nickel and dime defense on the field, and while it was effective against the pass, it left us vulnerable in the run game.
