Wayne had a nice career, B Marsh shows up, Gordon is showing up in a big way for the browns, Dez shows up, D thomas was breaking out with Tebow, Jordy shows up, Nicks is always making plays when he is on the field, the same with Cruz.

It isn't really BS, this organization as a whole has bad luck with WRs. Crabtree was a given that fell in our lap, besides Josh Morgan and Kyle Williams who have we drafted that is respectable or still in the league?

Jury will be out on Patton for a while but Josh Morgan is probably our best pick at WR in the last decade+

Crabtree was a top10 pick for a reason and clearly worth it, can't say we "targeted" him when the 2009 FO blatantly said he fell to us and that they "had to take him".

They need to bring a new person just to evaluate WRs because whoever was doing it before aint gotta clue.

LOL. What sus got out of the post is totally the opposite of what English intended.

Being a great receiver does not make you a great scout.

lol yah I know

but the problem goes back even farther with guys like rashaun woods and derrick Hamilton there was some other dude who was college qb that they tried converting him to wr.

English failed to do proper research on his post.

rashaun woods and derrick hamilton, etc. were different front offices. harabaugh doesnt get credit for drafting crabtree so he shouldn't deserve blame for drafting rashaun woods

I agree. It's more about being able to develop a player than it is being able to "draft" a player. Like you said, Crabtree fell the Niners at #10. Let's emphasize the fact that we're talking about a wide receiver that "fell" to #10. Crab was a rare talent that would've gone even higher had he not been injured.

Kyle Williams is a #3 WR at best, but more like a #4/PR-type-of-guy. That's nothing to write home about. Josh Morgan is decent, but he is not a starting-caliber receiver.

Torrey Smith, DeSean Jackson, Victor Cruz, Demaryius Thomas (Late 1st), Alshon Jeffery, Eric Decker, Dez Bryant(Late 1st), Antonio Brown, Anquan Boldin, Brandon Marshall, Hakeem Nicks, Jordy Nelson, Reggie Wayne(Late 1st), Josh Gordon.

Only top guys in early 1st are guys like Calvin, Andre J, AJ, Fitz, and Julio Jones.

Must also factor, how many of those WRs were drafted by teams with gunslinging "elite" QBs during those seasons, while the Niners had....well the passer(s) they had in the 2000s
